The wait is, almost, over. Globe Telecom has opened iPhone 4 pre-orders in the Philippines this early. Now you can reserve your own iPhone 4, both the black and white models.
Note: Correction. Turns out this is not a pre-order form but a form for those “interested in the iPhone 4”. Seems a bit too detailed for a newsletter (email would have sufficed right?) you’d easily mistake it for a reg form. The actual pre-order form has yet to be announced or put up. Will update once actual pre-orders are announced.
The Globe microsite did not say when the iPhone 4 will be available in the Philippines or what the price point will be.
You can sign up here to have your unit reserved — great for those who are in their retention/loyalty plans.
It’s also interesting to note that Globe is asking people who pre-order which carrier they are currently using. The telco must be expecting a lot of switchers because of the iPhone 4.
We still estimate the Apple iPhone 4 will officially be released in late September or early October. Here’s our closest guess on what the price of the iPhone 4 on Globe will be.

Pre-order na ba or “registration of interest” pa lang? :-)
Either way, there’s no harm in registering.

Jhay says:
Great news for my aunt. She has been dying to know when Globe would make take in orders or reservations for the iPhone 4. She already has the bumper case!
Jedd says:
It’s not a pre-order, otherwise they would have mentioned the price already. They are just trying to get a feel for the demand.
tony says:
at present im in d US and wil be back to the phil in 3 weeks. im buying this iphone 4 from a friend n plan to unlock. i hv a current smart line phone in the phil. if i cut/trim my sim card will it work? can i use iphone4 then? nid help plsss.
Jovz says:
@tony
yep it will work but it would be much easier to get a microsim from Smart. You may use it if the iPhone is not locked to any telco like Globe or if its jailbroken.
Ger says:
It’s looking like more of a mailing list for updates rather than a pre-order site. I called in to Globe customer care as well and they’re telling me to register so I can have the latest updates.
andy says:
GUys, Iphone4 is only 34k in HongKong and Singapore.. In Globe it will be double the price.. I also ask ambassador and the price is 60k.. Wew, mine will be delivered to Hong Kong on the 2nd week of September and will be here on 2nd or 3rd week of Sept..

siguro by December, available na ang iPhone 4 in the Philippines. kaya lang, 6 months after, meron na namang bago, iPhone 4G, laos agad ang apple phone nyong P60,000. hahaha

people should not be MISLED, this is not a PRE-ORDER but merely a registration of interest. BLOGGERS should think twice before writing articles, be responsible and truthful in your contents.
Globe Registration of Interest, FAQ:
Do I need to register an interest before I can purchase the iPhone 4?
No. By registering your interest, you will only be kept informed on the latest iPhone 4 updates from Globe. It does not constitute a confirmed order and is not necessary in order to purchase. The advantage of registering your interest in this website is you will be one of the first to know the latest updates on the iPhone 4’s availability in the Philippines.

cahoots512 says:
Why don’t you guys just go to the Apple Store Singapore site and order from there. The 16G iPhone 4 is selling at SGD888 – less than 30K. Openline pa. No white version nga lang.
jozel says:
the 32 gb iphone 4 is at 34,903.81 PHP
manny says:
as per my experience, the “registration of interest”, Singtel used this to allocate the first batch of volume of units.
then 2 days prior to the official release date, Singtel sent invitation emails for those who registered, and if you confirm in that email, they will give you priority on the specified release date, and they will not entertain those who didnt sign up (on the release date).
They entertained other orders, the immediate week after the release weekend, but with 3weeks leadtime.
As for me, i passed up, and declined the invitation. I didnt find anything wrong with the phone, just thinking if i should spend the money on something else.
Shamashu says:
May free bumper case ba na kasama for the Iphone 4?
poche says:
this is not a preorder form. in fact after sending the form a notice will say that “Thank you for successfully registering your interest. We will contact you via the email address which you have provided to inform you on when you can pre-order the iPhone 4”
they will just email you when preorders are ready.
Francess says:
Im already using my iphone4 using my globe sim , unlocked and jailbreak- successful. No signal prob.
Adolfo Laguardia says:
I got my iPhone 4 last week free handset upgrade from Starhub. Snappy sya, mabilis, and superb performance when it comes to multitasking. Although it will be better if you install Backgrounder app (available in Cydia and Hackulo Repository) to eliminate the buffer everytime you switch to an already-opened app running in the background.
The antenna problem is still there.. Sa lahat ng telcos sa Singapore kase pinakamahina ng reception ang Starhub. So mararamdaman mo talaga ang “deathgrip”, I used to play around with my iPhone when I got it, Jailbreak and installed hundred of apps, then tinawagan ako sa landline na bakit daw madalas di ako makontak.. hahaha. Then I knew it. The Deathgrip! Pag malakas naman ang reception mo, wala ka talaga problema, if you have 5bars, the actual reading could be more than that. Imagine running 180kph on a 120kph speedometer. Parang ganun, so yung changes ng signal strength, di mo talaga maramdaman. Pero if you are riding on the edge of 1 to 2 bars lang, Jezzuzz Christ! You would rather put the phone on the table and put it in speakerphone.
There are a lot of possible fixes posted on the web. Anjan yung, sinasabing yung micro sim copper terminals are touching the edge of the sim tray kaya nagshoshort and signal strength is compromised and that you will have to grind the opposite edge and position it about 0.5 to 1mm away from the sim tray’s edge. Which I already did, wala naman gaano effect.
So I ordered a case, i dont like the case that Apple is giving away. They F*CKED it up and now they are giving away cheap-fix without styling. I bought the CNCd aluminum Element Case VAPOR CARBON online because it was advertised as able to fix the antenna problem and maporma ang dating. But that was onehelluvalie. When I put my phone in, yung 2-3bars ko dati, gone! All gone! Then I understood, kaya pala silicon yung pinapamigay ng Apple..
I thought the antenna issue was something I can deal with before I pre-ordered this set. Well, it’s still an iPhone4, people still queue up and getting crazy over it. I’ll see what I can do. :D
AbeG says:
I think kaya gawa sa Silicon material ung pinapamigay na bumper ng Apple kasi mas mura un to think na lahat ng bibili ng iPhone 4 before Sept. 30 will receive one. And hopefully Globe will release the phone as early as first week of Sep.
Alex says:
I don’t know why Apple even bothered launching the iphone in the Philippines. There’s probably only less than a thousand people who could really afford an iphone over there. And a lot of times, the iphones you see in the Philippines were purchased by a relative in the US, unlocked it and sent over there.
jin says:
yung jailbreaking and unlocking ba same thing lang or different? darating yung iphone4 ko this december UNLOCKED. so jailbreak/unlock then what?
may binebenta ba yung GLOBE na micro-sim?
Alex says:
Unlocking is part of jailbreaking the phone. It allows you to use other carrier’s sim card. Instead of using the Apple App Store to download apps, you need to go to Cydia instead.
noblewolf says:
unlocking is for the iphone to be used with other mobile carriers other than at&t.
jailbreaking is for you to be able to do and modify your iphone to your liking and not governed by what’s available in the apple’s app store.
noblewolf says:
other than cydia, better to use ther repositories like installous, sinfuliphone and elpelle6 among others that i have.. andaming cracked paid apps.. you can also be able to use the facetime over 3g!
andy says:
@Jin>>> may micro sim na ang globe BUT i will only be available for post paid which is 999 a month… No micro sim for prepaid..>>> best remedy daw is to cut the ordinary sim.. hehehe i’ll try it too pagdating ng unit ko…
francess says:
microsim ng globe postpaid di pa magagamit for iphone4 pang ipad lang. u can cut your sim naman, i already did. :)
andy says:
@francess Bro pacopy naman ng micro sim.. pano mo sinukat?
Francess says:
@andy- may kasama kasi na atnt microsim tong phone ko kaya un yung guide ko.
karl says:
60k omfg are u kidding me? a phone that cant even make a decent call sus, id rather get the new 8gb 3GS with ios4 then jailbreak it using wifi..and besides the 3GS appeals more to me, i dont know why haha
manny says:
the thing is, its very expensive if bought in the phils, but in other countries you can get it with just USD200 (or S$250), along with a Php1500 equivalent 12Gb data plan, so its not absurd to get one. its also a fun option to the blackberry for business push mail. i just hope our telco will soon be able to subsidized the phone initial cost to make smartphones more affordable in the phils.
andy says:
@Francis Pakopya bro.. bumili na ko ng tattoo sim kasi yun daw yung kasya sa micro sim.o kaya pahiram pattern.. hehehe

I will be getting a white iphone 4 from the US(the prepaid one, not those priced @ $299.) I will be using a globe microsim. Is it still necessary for me to unlock the phone to be able to use the globe microsim? If so, where can I get the service? Or can I do it by myself at home since I don’t want to risk losing my phone in greenhills?
andy says:
greenhills is the place to be! If it’s not factory unlock, you have to bring it to greenhills to be able to use globe microsim…

Good post. I study something more difficult on different blogs everyday. I’d favor to use some with the content on my weblog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll offer you a hyperlink in your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
