We got the date pegged so this one is confirmed — the HTC Sensation (along with the Wildfire S that’s already been sold in stores for weeks now) is set to launch this coming Wednesday, June 15.
This rings true to our earlier report of a June release in the Philippines.
That means you should be seeing units available this week or next week at the latest. Unfortunately, we still don’t have the final suggested retail price of the unit (which means HTC is still figuring out how to price it considering the Galaxy S2 is already priced at Php29,990 and the Optmus 2X at Php27,990).
We’re still optimistic that HTC will take on the challenge and price the HTC Sensation at the same exact SRP as the SGS2 or maybe a bit lower. We’ll definitely get that info by Wednesday (unless of course we get a leak of the price earlier).
Update: Looks like our guess was a bit off. We got word from HTC’s main man himself that the suggested retail price of the HTC Sensation is going to be Php33,000.
I’ve found myself here many times before while searching various things. I appreciate the detailed articles you write, and in some instances this is the ONLY place I can even find them. Cheers
what a hefty price!
wow, its expensive at 33k
For me i’ll choose this over SGS2… The quality of the material and the support that Htc can give was a big factor. I used to have samsung phones but when it comes to quality, s0rry!
I dont need large internal mem0ry since most of the apps that I need aside from the one I want are app2sd supported and for samsung, you need that to install a lot of launchers, sense 3.0 is better.
That’s just me based on my experience with both manufacturer.
Thanks for spending lot of time to write such a great review.I liked HTC Sensation due to its good power process, aluminium case and unlimited customize software apps
Seriously? 33K? Oh come on HTC.
well for sure the loyal HTC fans would bite that price but hey for practical people there are three dual core phones already available and it will all boil down to specs
They could have placed it between 28 and 30 ahahaha.
why would i spend 3k more when i already can get a super smart phone like the SGS2? hehe.
which has 16 gig internal memory compared to the 1gig of the sensation, which has 1gig ram compared to the 800mhz ram of the sensation.
30+K? what were they thinking?
i had very high hopes with this phone. But if they stick to the 30k+ price tag it won’t be very competitve.
Again, thumbs down for HTC for selling their name and not the product…
Just like Apple –Htc is doing the same approach–overpriced yet underwhelming
i hope the price of this phone is not more than 30k.hehe!
ip4 for the win!
ganda nga specs.. loser naman sa apps..
tsaka laki ng depreciation.. kapag binenta mo ng second hand dedma lang.. unlike ip4..
iPhone 4 for the loss!
Only idiotic people would say that iOs has better apps , especially considering you are in the philippines. There’s not much of a difference–so marginal that you would hardly notice it.
Wawa ka naman justifying your expensive purchase. Phones are basically for calls– when it comes to radio features — apple sucks –that includes wifi, bluetooth, data exchange–compare it to other phones –it performs poorly….
Let’s talk convenience– hirap magtransfer ng files. For my case there are some sites that I need to access but have Flash navigations
In the long run you are on the losing end.
BTW I have iPhone 4(office supplied) for testing purposes ng mga apps namin.
agree ako kay fboi maganda nga specs ng mga android phones pero walang kwenta mga apps nila compare sa applications ng iOS.. sa games palang sobrang ganda ng graphics compare mo sa games na available sa android market.
iOS apps wala pang kalaban
enjoy your 100k iPhone Fart apps!
well you haven’t tried your so called iphone “fart apps”…coz you’ll keep your cheapo apps and phone..
can SE phones compete with htc android?

http://www.htc.com/sea/press.aspx?id=169800&lang=1033
will wait for a month or two to get this.
bought mine for ~$700 CAD, so it’s almost $100 cheaper than the S2. don’t expect too much out of this as the S2 beats the HTCS spec-wise, with only the screen resolution of the HTCS being better.
OS too expensive!
This type of com eqpt. should be priced 10 to 15t eheheeh.

Selling this phone at 30K is not a good move. Why sell a phone at such premium when a “better” and more hyped competitor (aka Samsung Galaxy S2) sells at a lower price and already packed w/ SAMOLED, NFC, USB on the go, HDMI out, 1.2GHz Exynos CPU, and 1GB RAM…
Unless they really wanted the price to be the key differentiator: Such that when asked what the Sensation has that Samsung Galaxy S cannot offer, the answer is: It is more expensive.” ;)
The reason why htc sensation is expessive compair to SG2 . Because htc has an elegant look with the aluminum casing compair to the plastic case of SG2. And even if SG2 using s amoled the htc sensation using qhd display. For me htc is my choise because on their elegant design compaire to GS2 its very common design like LG optimus, they look like desame only brand name is the difference between GS2 and LG optimus .
Having a hard time choosing this over the S2 and they price this at 33k. Guess they have a lot of faith in their products then. =) Will just wait when the price drops.
Awww… I bought my partner an HTC DHD last March for 28k considering that DHD was pegged at 30+ when it was launched. So let’s wait for a couple of months and hopefully the price will drop.
Wow 33k, really? How many units are they planning to sell? Below 100? They shouldve priced this at below 30k. Even though Im a fan of HTC, I dont think this price is the right price for them. Guess Im going to buy this in Taiwan na lang next week. Any idea on the price of this in Taiwan?

Plus the internal storage of 1GB on HTC Sensation vs. Galaxy S2’s 16gb/32gb variety, I’d pick Galaxy S2 over this. But that’s just me.
A store at FH, quoted a grey market unit at 31k, don’t know kung nagkamali lang, but the grey market SII is at 37k, cash.
only fanboys would buy this at above 30k.
i hate money so am i a fanboy? LOL
I’m guessing a PhP 32k~35k price point.
Wow. Buying an android phone for myself is really imminent. I hope the price for this one is really competitive with the projected S2 price.
ciao!
