I’ve got an Ipad-2, but looks like will get an A501 3G instead of a Ipad3….would think this will be a wise decision?
SKi @ Sulit says:
That depends on which OS you prefer.. But in case you decided to get an A501, I’m selling mine to buy an Android phone..
Jomel says:
Can anyone tell where I can buy a ‘micro HDMI to VGA’ cable for my Iconia A500? I really need to have one for my presentations. Will appreciate your help….

how does tether works on this gadget?

The A100 is awesome. I have one. It’s like taking the A500 and shrinking it down to a 7″ mini tablet. It has the same Tegra2 dual core processor and is the ONLY 7″ tab with Android honeycomb 3.2. People who have purchased the A series tablets will be glad to know as well that we are all being upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this April. Pretty cool.

The Acer A501 in my opinion is the most well rounded tablet on the market. First of all it’s full sized (10.1″ screen), has a tegra 2 processor so you’re already up to par with an Ipad2 sporting an A5 dual core processor, you’ve got the convenience of a regular USB port so you can stick your flash drives in it, and you have an HDMI slot which is handy for connecting to a projector for presentations. The kicker though is the fact that it has all those things plus it’s 3G (simcard) and it’s still thousands of pesos less than the Ipad2 which you need to buy a seperate accesory for in order to have all the slots and ports that the Acer already has which costs more of course. Now a lot of “Apple people” will come back at you and say “well you can’t beat the Apps.” Honestly, the android market offers just as many apps plus a lot of the Apps that were exclusive to Ipad before now have an android version so you’re not really missing out on anything. In conclusion, if one is contemplating on purchasing a full sized tablet then it’s the Acer A501 for me no doubt. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

fedjodap says:
i just bought one, still exploring but i thought that this tab is ok, looks good, not like ipad2 and galaxy 10.1 looks like toys, kids are playing, iconia looks professional
Andrei Anderson says:
No offenses to your opinion but the galaxy tab 10.1 and 8.9 also look professional (I actually wrote this on my galaxy tab 10.1)
archibald says:
…nakakatext ba ang 3g version ng iconia tab???
mkbm says:
yes.
Sonny says:
how about the a100?
William Co says:
I think the Asus eeepad is still a better buy. Unless you need the 3G connectivity of the new variant. The eeePad IPS screen is the key differentiator, the optional, but expensive BUT way cool keyboard is neat as well. The Galaxy 10.1 is great but no MicroSD expansion is a big downer.
The iConia main selling point is price, it’s a little cheaper than the eeePad but not by much. Acer should at least have bumped up the CPU to a higher clock speed, but maybe NVidia haven’t produce them, since it haven’t showed up elsewhere…

pro-RH Bill says:
value for money, I would recommend the wifi only version (a500). Unbelievable price. You can use your symbian, android, or iphone to tether wifi.
My colleague bought his for P15K only. He has a friend who owns a store.
Of course there are SOME compromises: chunky build, weight, mediocre battery life, and poor sunlight legibility.
But for the price, puwede na talaga. It trumps the Samsung Galaxy 10.9 & 8.9 with the micro-SD expansion.
Anti-RH Bill says:
Ipad 2 is the BEST!!!
John says:
suck it, a lot of people still seek for affordable tablets. nuff’ said.
