Great site. A lot of helpful information here. I’m sending it to several friends ans
additionally sharing in delicious. And certainly, thanks to
your effort!
Hi there to every body, it’s my first pay a visit of this web site;
this blog includes awesome and genuinely good material for
visitors.
You actually make it seem really easy along with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be actually something that I believe I’d never understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely wide for me. I am taking a look forward in your subsequent publish, I will attempt to get the hang of it!
I’ve been browsing on-line greater than three hours nowadays, but I by no means discovered any fascinating article like yours. It is beautiful worth sufficient for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made excellent content as you probably did, the web might be much more helpful than ever before.
feels like tom cruise on minority report if i have that kind of virtual keyboard.
Cool.. Pero gaya ng iba.. Pang porma lang din… Di ito ang notebook na talagang maisasabak mo sa maramig usage.. Kung paangasan lang din ng gadgets… I’ll go for apple. Looks can be deceiving ika nga.. :D
…..finally bought one. It’s one heavy s.o.b. The dual screen and the U.I. overlay by Acer (on top Winhdows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition) works like a charm. Love the futuristic concept and the thinking behind it. The Core i5 works well but it would have been more premium had Acer added an SSD instead of the standard platter hard drive (half terra). Battery life is adequate (around 3 hours for moderate use and depending on the settings). Oh yeah, they forget to include an internal optical drive (not a deal breaker but would have been nice).
As expected, Windows 7 is not a touch-centric O.S. (Windows 8 where are you?) but, as is, it works reasonably well (specially with the Acer U.I. add on). The touchscreen is sensitive (making touch typing a bit tricky) and responsive enough (hardly any lag). Build quality is quite good. Overall: I’m happy as a clam.
okay na sana eh kaso Intel HD graphics lang. baduy. sana naglagay na ng dedicated :)
It was recently awarded as “The Last Gadget Standing” di ba?
….buying this next week. I’m intrigued by this new form factor and is in the spirit of the Microsoft Courier (sayang na sayang). Villman’s discounted price is P67,500.00 (cash). It’s a good thing I got a load of freebies (two Sony Ericcs and a white MacBook) from Smart (planning to sell those to get an Iconia). I hate iPads and tablets, in general (because of the virtual keyboard and limited screen real estate) but in this case, it’s a fair trade-off (electro-mechanical keyboard vs. more screen real estate).
“3000mAh 4-cell Li-ion battery”
Common dude, is this good for 1 hour use only?
Dual screen can slice off the operating hours of a 6-cell battery powered laptop into half, so, how much more if it is 3 cell only?
Im really concerned with that Intel HD Graphics..Tsk Tsk..typing on a touchscreen is not that bad for me if it has haptic feedback..siguro.
Nice laptop.
The question is, is this a hastily-made response to the iPad? It looks like it. A heavyweight with limitations, I’m not really so sure on what to do with it. It looks like a bigger version of Nintendo DS. I think the market is not yet ready for this unless a specific OS is going to run this thing.
After this innovation, what is next? http://jonaflormicfren.blogspot.com/
@lolipown:
What I meant for standard specs are the RAM, processor, OS and most other components…
The Toshiba Libretto W100 is a similar product, though it’s much smaller. I think it’s also being sold around PhP70k in SM Megamall. Products like these have the worst of both worlds: A laptop’s bulk with a tablet’s limited usability.
Good luck (di pala official word ang “goodluck”) to Acer for finding a market for this. Toshiba didn’t find one. It’s priced at the high-end with low-end and middle-end market components.
I think kung mahilig ka pumorma at mapera ka baka bumili ka nito. Kung sanay ka sa conventional keyboard mahihirapan ka maka pag adjust dito at mahirap mag type.
I bet Star Trek fans will try to skin the UI to look like the control panels on the Enterprise. “Shields up!”
@JP Use your “11th” finger.
waaaaaaaaaaaHhh ang mahal ah! Pero maganda naman!
@Miguel
Good luck to whom? Finding a buyers for this contraption is Acer’s problem. And standard to what? Is there a similar product like the Iconia? Yes it’s a built as a laptop but with the keyboard replaced by a second multi-touch screen it’s obviously not marketed as one.
grabe ang mahal!
btw,..Happy Birthday Sir Abe!
@sir Abe, SUPER HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY PO. Thank you
po sa lahat2x. Keep up the great
work and MORE POWER!!
At first I was really amazed with this product, pero naisip ko pang porma lang to para sa mga di nakaka-alam. heheh. I’m much into performance/productivity ng isang gadget.
Now that’s what I call “baligtaran” hehehe… with that specs and price.. only enthusiast and gadget collector will buy this one! :)
This is cool but highly impractical for my taste and needs.
@lolipown:
Too SOUPED up? Almost everything about it is standard specs… The only differentiating feature of that thing is it’s dual screen form factor. Unfortunately, you couldn’t take full advantage of the dual-screen set-up with such a weak graphics set-up.
Goodluck in finding a niche for that. It’s not for those who want bang-for-the-buck, but I doubt high-end buyers who demand performance would like to buy something that is good only for watching movies. (You wouldn’t want to type documents with it, nor would it decently run current games.)
Men! That’s a 4 cell battery! They could have made it an 8 cell!
@Miguel
No one’s arguing the logic behind the Iconia’s design. It’s too SOUPED up for it’s intended purpose IMO.
I’m simply pointing out that at that price point and for what you’ll be getting with the package, the Iconia isn’t for you, me or anyone who value bang-for-buck.
as stated above:
the Acer Iconia-484G64ns — which is already being sold at Villman.
Suggested retail price at Villman is Php70,896
any price tag and release date nung iconia tablet dito sa Pinas?
@lolipown:
Being a niche product is not an excuse for a poor design. At its price point and design, it’s clearly intended for the high-end market and for multimedia purposes. You would expect to have a dedicated graphics chip for a set-up with dual screens like that. Acer was probably inclined to improve battery life that’s why it avoided a dedicated GPU. But still, it’s a poor design…
Larry Miranda is right… just get a tablet. It has a better compromise between battery life and screen space.
You guys really need to learn that this is a niche product. tsk tsk
Dual screen WITH INTEL GRAPHICS??? Intel graphics is already mediocre with 1 screen, how much more with 2 screens?
kung acer din namn, wag na!
i do not see the need for dual screen. tama si Larry, paano kung haba ng report mo at type ka sa touchscreen. baka mabutas ung screen sa katalagan.
Technology is so awesome but also so expensive!
Typing on a screen?
I don’t think it will be very comfortable…
Just imagine, you need to type a report.
Let’s say a 5,000 word report, would you do that on a touchscreen?
I don’t think so…
What’s the point of having two screens on a laptop anyway?
Why don’t you just get a tablet!
How’s the Windows Experience Index? Can reach as high as 5.9?
Acer redefines touch typing, it now means typing on a touchscreen.
I read somewhere that to invoke the virtual keyboard, you should tap the lower glass with all ten fingers at the same time. Paano pag kulang ang daliri? Interesting.
Edi huwag kang bumili kung kulang ang daliri mo.. hahaha!^_^
Very interesting! I wonder how its battery life will fare.
POOR BATTERY…
This thing would probably last for a maximum of 3 hours only..
that is sooo rich~ i want that!
