Asus EeePC 1201PN w/ nVidia Ion 2 gets priced

Asus continues to churn out more iterations of its 12-inch Eee PC line with the 1201PN sporting an nVidia Ion 2 chip. This model has been spotted in local stores selling for about Php28,900.

And when you thought that this could really be an upgrade to the 1201N, you’d be surprised with the CPU they paired it with.

Asus Eee PC 1201PN
12.1″ display @ 1366×768 pixels
Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66GHz
nVidia Ion 2 512MB
2GB DDR2 RAM
250GB HDD
WiFi 802.11b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1 (optinal)
HDMI port
3 USB 2.0 ports
SD card slot
0.3MP webcam
6-cell battery

Comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Starter Edition. Since the N450 has a built-in Intel GMA 3150 graphics, I’m not sure if this unit can switch graphics between the Intel and nVidia.

For the suggested retail price of Php28,900, I think the Eee PC 1201N (Php26,995) is a better deal considering it’s got a dual-core N330 CPU.

  1. this is not the actual unit right? the red sticker on the left side of the palm rest looks like the one for AMD platforms

  2. The one in the pic is the 1201T but all the 1201’s have the same built, minus the stickers.

  3. Wow!

Any idea on the battery of life this unit, Abe?

BTW, Joulemeter can now be downloaded from Microsoft.

  4. @jp – my guess is that it will be similar to that of the HP Mini 311 — around 3-4 hours.

  5. Sup Sir Yuga!

    Random question:

    http://www.sony.com.ph/product/vpcea21eg

it runs on Intel® Pentium® Processor P6000 (1.86GHz) CPU, do you think this is worth it? Is this CPU good for MMORPG type of games? Thanks a lot. Coz im thinking of getting one

    Rock on!

  6. Pretty nice netbook, but my msi windu230 is still the best netbook around when it comes to price and functionality, It’s out in the market for a couple of months now. You can get it at 22k

  7. @kyle

    you’re a tool

  8. sana nakakatipid sa cpu usage para hindi maubusan nang battery, good luck sa maglalagay nang Plants vs Zombies

  9. nice specs but not sure if this is a typo..

    0.3MP webcam? I wonder how’s the resolution of the video/images. :)

and yes Eee PC 1201N is a much better deal and cheaper too. :)
