Thanks for this great information! I really appreciate this. I actually let my husband have a look and he posted a link to it on his blog :)
Miguel Paraz says:
Has anyone tried Linux on these?
javier says:
comments are for netbooks..
not for laptops / desktops
javier says:
we recently used this in our barangay election.. it lasted for about 8hrs+ (playing music while searching for names and precint)

regardless of aftersales (i assume u owned one since how could u know they’re bad??? gosh!), i’ll find it amazing u don’t have any idea since these products are in all malls in the phils (tga san francisco ka ba? — del monte).
manong says:
@lawrence
malamang ikaw si lawrence of arabia.. sa disyerto nag-ttravel? kamusta na rin po kay tarzan!
i have nothing against netbooks except for the price of some which nears laptop level but way below performance.
dreadblack says:
@manong
ah okay you’re talking about emachines/neo that’s why i don’t know. worst aftersales after all. peace!

i doubt someone could browse for 8 straight hours using that small screen… hope his eyes won’t bleed and his fingers don’t go numb for that scrolling sideways and downwards.
maybe 3 hours, which a laptop actually do… and more.
”
I presume you don’t travel much? Well, I do. It’s not that I use my netbook for more than 3 hours straight, but I often don’t have access to an outlet to charge my batteries while on travel. So having a netbook that I could actually use within the day without re-charging is a plus for me. Well, that’s just it. For me. who travels a lot. So, I guess, same as with any other gadgets, it depends on your needs.
Winziph says:
this one looks promising, planning to buy one. anyone who have the idea with the version of this nf310?
selecta56 says:
@lawrence
i almost liked this except from the fact that this laptop has only an Intel GMA as its graphics processor, not Nvidia ION (which is cheaper and better). but, i can still say it will be a good buy because this netbook comes with a dual-core processor. A dual-core processor and a weak gpu like Intel GMA is not really good for HD videos while dual-core processor and an Nvidia ION will surely bring good HD experience. If you love to watch HD videos in youtube, don’t buy this…
at this price range you can buy a netbook with much better specs that will enable you to experience an intensifying HD experience. I’ll pick an Asus EEE PC 1201N because it comes with a much lower price and better gpu.
lawrence says:
I like this!
The selling point of this netbook is mobility through it’s size and great battery life. so if you don’t like the specs, look elsewhere. This is not for you. Why bash the product?
selecta56 says:
oops, i forgot that Acer-eMachines D730 is a laptop…sorry! i was so hasty.
selecta56 says:
@manong
what are the specs of the desktop pc that you have mentioned?
it seems like a good bargain given that it’s acer.
selecta56 says:
the price of this netbook is good but, i hope that they’ll quit on using Intel GMA and opt on using Nvidia ION instead.
qwerty says:
A single core Intel Celeron or Core 2 Solo is better than the dual-core Atom. Atom is made to operate on low voltage, right? I do not expect much peformance from a dual-core Atom but, still it’s good to see that this little processor gets better time by time.
I hope that there will be a day that a dual-core Atom can perform at higher speeds without sacrificing much energy (if possible).

Pasensya na po mas mura pa ang desktop eh…

maybe 3 hours, which a laptop actually do… and more.
manong says:
you know what is really mobile and has actually long battery life?
a smartphone! next would be a tablet… i hope dreadblack & biggs know about those gadgets! some are below 20k btw…
manong says:
have u seen the sizes of these 11″ netbooks compared to a 14″ laptop?
so 3 inches is the difference between mobile and non-mobile nowadays, huh? unless you are below 5ft tall, maybe.
manong says:
@dreadblack/biggs
ever heard of e-machines & neo and even msi laptops? your know-about is quite limited… please read more yugatech topics please!
jan says:
neo laptop
dreadblack says:
@biggs
desktop pc ata ang ibig nyang sabihin. :D
i hope mareview na sya agad. :)
agrimensor says:
If its 14.1″ below then its mobile. But for me the biggest factor into buying these netbook is battery life.
Manny says:
it may not be much, but its a good alternative to the iPad, if mobility is the intention.
Biggs says:
@manong – and what i3 laptop are you referring to? cnxa na di na ako familiar..
manongnongal says:
@manong:
the point is mobility.. i doubt if anyone intends to work full time with a screen this small.. simply using it for browsing and the occasional light gaming and encoding..
manong says:
a better processor like i3 makes the job faster and has better multi-tasking so u don’t need a couple more hours, imho!
also has a better resale value since it is not gimped like a netbook.. upgradeable pa!
manong says:
for 3k more u get a bigger screen, hyperthreading, hd graphics, dvd-rw and upgradability…
so what is the point?
manong says:
just add 3k and u get an i3 laptop… well?
lolipown says:
@piolo
Where in those specs did it say that it’s not a netbook?
Joshua says:
Well the size is a netbook.

lawrence says:
wow, 10 hours battery life?!
I’m getting only two hours only on my current netbook. I’ll be eying on this one. I hope this gets reviewed how the battery fairs on real usage.

sana may review na dito para malaman tlga kung totoong 10hrs yan battery..
specs are impressive!

it’s good that more and more netbook competitions are coming out. makakamura tayo in the end.

deym 10 hours battery life? and only 24k? sayang sana eto na lang binili ko :( i recently bought a netbook, lenovo ideapad S10-3t which is also a touch tablet. sobrang mediocre ng battery life nya 2 hours lang on a single charge minsan nga hindi pa eh. aside from that ang bilis pang uminit. balak ko ngang ibenta and bumili uli cause im not really happy with it. lesson learned! wag maging atat hehe
GoLAKERSGoLAKERS says:
just another netbook around the corner… I dont know if this laptop can get a steady footing on the market of netbooks in the Phils. The trio of Asus acer and msi still leads.
someone says:
Maybe he got confused. This is a netbook right?

@Teknisyan
you have high expectations don’t you?

what good is a dual-core processor if you’re on a mediocre GPU and OS?
