As though we haven’t had our fill of controversies, Jayvee opens up a new one and is calling out somebody who he claims is misrepresenting bloggers:
It is such a sad experience to have a blogger misrepresent the Philippine blogosphere for his or her own merit. Recently, a huge conference was held and some industry folk mentioned a particular blogger who gave such a compelling presentation about the Philippine blogosphere. It was so compelling because it was the first BIG time that the local industry’s eyes were opened to the spectacle that is the Philippine blogosphere.
And while my curiosity wants to get the better of me (who are you referring to Jayvs?), I was more curious on the issue of “who’s misrepresenting who”. I mean, the second who, not the first one.
The class noun we often referred to as the philippine blogosphere is being misrepresented, according to Jayvee and his sources. As to who is making the misrepresentation, only he can answer. The bigger question is who are the bloggers in the “philippine blogosphere” that have been misrepresented? How were they misrepresented? I’m a blogger, was I misrepresented? Was my blog or my name used/presented in a different context? Who else?
Before Jayvee can go around and gather allies for this cause, he may want to explain and qualify his statements.
So fire away, Jayvs. If this is all about responsibility and transparency, lay out all the cards. ;)
Update:
Jayvee has finally named names.
oh my, tsk tsk, crab mentality n nmn b to? magbago n tayo!
Jayvee is pretty excitable isn’t he? I bet some bloggers think blogging can get them into Philippine high society. Brian Boy?
I can almost see Jayvee’s face … it’s so green with envy, asking himself why Janette was invited to speak and not him :). A perfect example of Filipino crab mentality.
Here we go again. The Filipino crab mentality.
Read the power point. Didn’t know Japanese was number 1. Did Toral include MySpace and Friendster blogs? I can only wonder. And who is this Toral character. I’ve never heard of her. And who is Jayvee? Who are you people?
It all boils down the money. Who gets the venture capital?
Yeah, we wish!
wow, daig pa ang Angel Locsin controversy dito ha! Keep on coming!
Sabi nga nila: Tell me who your friends are… and I will tell you mine.
I believe the powerpoint presentation is in this entry

Where can we find the real news article about this?
More power to all pinoy bloggers!
Mabuhay ang Pinoy Blogosphere! (.com?! *lol*)
.net? o baka naman .org?
@ oNLINE rENDEVOUS, better luck next time in asking that question. right now we’re too busy watching the blogosphere to give you charts and analysis..hehehe ;)
Question:
How many people on here have had online rendevous or booty calls with people they met on the internet or a web blog? How many people have dated people they met online? Has anyone married anyone they met online?
Javy F: it’s actually usually spelled Jayvee F. ha ha ha! may intrigerong pinag-ba-bangga si yugatech kay a bugged life.
yuga: if Jayvee can’t name names, he shouldn’t have blogged about it at all.
anyway, nobody can truly represent the Philippine blogosphere. because every blogger can only represent himself. because every blogger’s story is unique.
if he/she talks about blogging and the blogosphere in public, like in a conference, he can only site from his own experiences di ba? and only mention on the side the case of others. Still that’s only representing one’s self. parang ikaw! he he.
Yuga,
Why are you jealous of me? Why do you always copy me (Ex. buying a nintendo Wii)? Do you help out family? Stop copying my style. It is a free country. You are very wrong calling me out like that. I have lost all utmost respect in you.
What conference? Or at least give us a little bit more info on what the guy said, just leave out the specific names…
He may as well have left out the controversial part, and just focused on an article writing about representing the Philippine Blogosphere..
For all we know, there could be a reason to the insanity, and JayV could be on the wrong end of the thinking stick on this one.
After reading the comments over at his blog, it seems Jayvee is not talking.
But hey, it’s a free country, Jayvee doesn’t need to explain if he doesn’t want to. But I have to say, it’s annoying.
Was asking same question when I saw the original article. The guy has some explaining to do for curious readers :)
I haven’t seen the transcript of what has been mentioned in the said “huge conference” therefore its really open to interpretation.
@rico – nawala ka lang saglit and bam!
he’s actually telling something about himself. no one has misrepresented the philippine blogosphere…
Where did all of these controversies (or “controversies”) come from?
As my former Theo professor back in college would say, “Another ‘can of worms’ has been opened”.
