By end of 2009, Globe expects to cover these areas as well:
YugaTech.com is the largest and longest-running technology site in the Philippines. Originally established in October 2002, the site was transformed into a full-fledged technology platform in 2005.

be careful guys…it has limited internet usage…their commercial on Tv that its unlimited, ITS NOT TRUE…. 1mbps plan naka limits for 20 to 25gig only and the 512kbps plan is only up to 10gig to 15gig of download…its very deceiving we were not inform
” This is issue is TRUE….100% TRUE, its only limited—-may unlimited ba na limited????? Ang Globe kasi marunong mag sinungaling….I’m just new to this WI-Max but the Agents didn’t tell me na it has a limited access of 20-25GB of downloads per month only….so i didn’t enjoy that much….i’ll gonna return their product this coming week!! “
roger says:
Talaga naman, kahit sino pang provider, basta dumarami na ang subscriber bumabagal talaga, they should upgrade their tech from time to time to cope up with the demands..
Globe Wake up ! monitor your contractors..

Sir, I’m here at Ilocos, pwede ko ba dalhin ang Globe Wi-max anywhere…. for example; pupunta ako ng Manila, pwede ko ba magamit ang globe wi-max? Please do answer my queries…… tnx and more power!
roy says:
just visited the globelines wireless yesterday. my location is davao. inquired for the said wimax plan 995 but not yet available in our area. im just wondering why its not available till now in fact our neighboring cities like panabo city and digos city are wimax capable already. iv read a thread last year about the issue of the frequency between globe and home channel that could be the cause of the said of delay but still its been way too long to have not settled the problem. the csr in globe can’t give a good reason for the unavailability of the wimax plan. i hope globe could do something about this. its just depressing on our part.

A Globe guy just came here in our place yesterday to offer testing for their WIMAX in our aread (Lapulapu City Cebu). They are processing my account for a free 3 week trial 1MBps connection for 995, no obligations to continue service. I told them that I wanted to test the reliability of their service compared to my current SMARTBRO 384kbps for 999.
If I end up a satisfied WIMAX user, Im not sure if i would still cancel my smartbro. It’s so hard to deal with CS and techs. I dont want any charges.
DecryptedSoul says:
from mindanao…particularly zamboanga… had my connection for almost a week.. so far ok naman yung speed delivered as promised 512 kbps. sumosobra pa nga minsan e umaabot pa ng 600+ kbps.
vern says:
It’s junk when companies use tech terms such as WiMax, but don’t actually offer of have the capability to offer WiMax speeds. The speed they are offering can be accomplished with 3G … 3G can offer 7 times faster speeds. Everyone get excited for WiMax that is slower than standard modern 3G on a decent network.
VinS says:
Thanks Master YugaTech! I’ll go to globe now, and inquire for the service.
VinS says:
Master YugaTech, I have a Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop and its WiMax enable (Mobile Broadband enabled and yes, it has a sim card slot), can I avail of the service without any required equipments (USB Modem) and with WiMAX can I use internet anywhere I go in the metro?
Abe Olandres says:
I think it’s possible as long as your built-in 3G/Wimax modem has the proper device drivers and dialer. All you will need is the settings.

Dissatisfied Prospective Globe Wimax Subscriber
Eugene says:
I have requested Wimax since 5/23. They stopped sales from the Tagaytay office and instead offer 3g. I told the guy that I wanted the 1mbps wimax.
Globe, please if you are not going to have any modems available… don’t do press releases saying it is now available.
Dissatisfied Prospective Globe Wimax Subscriber.

Thanks Sir Abe for featuring this. I wish our area (Bukidnon) will be covered soon. I am a subscriber of Broadband Wireless, accdg to the marketer my connection is up to 512kbps at P995 per month. they provided me with the new 3g Router B933 + outdoor antenna. But I’ve got bad experience with this provider. No idea where to contact them. I know their website but hanvt checked it for contacts. My location is good, and I’ve got full signal and can achieve HSDPA connection, however connection is still intermittent. Many “request time-out” upon using the ping command. However I have downloaded DVD for one night from rapidshare using premium account. Connection and Downloading are better between 1-5am but during the day the connection is bad. I cant use the speedtest.net. It takes to long to open it, no way of determining the speed of my internet during the day. Thanks.

Don’t they have plans to expand also in Davao?
Carl says:
Can we convert our current Globe DSL line to WiMax?
Lezuric says:
I wish I could have GPON connection here in our location. By the way does Gumaca Quezon includes WiMax coverage?
Alfred says:
But you must have a wimax enabled laptop or desktop computer in order to use this technology.
Abe Olandres says:
@Alfred – Globe will provide you with that for free with the subscription.
Sherwin says:
