  1. Sonofa says:

is it true na you can get 4g signal from globe if you use this phone?

will my internet be faster on galaxy s2 instead if I just use Xperia Arc?

    thanks!

  2. louie fernandez says:

magkano po ung samsung galaxy s 2?

  3. Raneil says:

Guys saan pwede mag apply for this phone plan…

    • RANEIL says:

I Mean is there a specfic website that i can go to, do i have to goto thier branch to apply or either do i have to give them a call.. feedback is highly appreciated tnx

  4. jurong29 says:

I have my s2 from globe for my retention last tueday.for those who want to avail the pre order from samsung today just cintact me st tel no. 091782***** and i wll give my pre order slot .

  5. Cliff Rosario says:

Globe already delivered my SGS2 handset yesterday.
Weird though that some folks are complaining about the way the process was handled. Globe’s online team that handled my order followed up with me consistently last week by phone calls and I receive a phone call last Wednesday to inform me that somebody will be arriving to deliver my handset between 10a-5pm but they actually came 9am yesterday…

A Question though.. the box I received is still sealed pa naman did anybody received there’s with the seal broken? and my package came with a sodexo GC.. walang leather case.. sayang.. lol.. the box is indeed small.. almost the same size ng box ng iPhone 4 ko..

Right now I’m happy with it.. and it’s uber light.. ridiculously light.. it doesn’t really feel cheap.. this is coming from someone who have an iPhone4 as a primary handset..
I don’t feel the HSPA+ though.. it’s at par with how my iPhone4 HSDPA connection is even if I tether to my laptop.. 2.5mbps at average..

    • Cliff Rosario says:

I noticed.. official Globe telecom yung wallpaper na blue nung SGS2 that I got.. so that means lahat nga naopen na ng handset box for Globe to modify the settings or factory installed na siya wherever it came from..

Good thing I don’t have the pink or yellow tint issues..

    • Cliff Rosario says:

  6. aa1372 says:

may yellow tint yung handset ko :(

    • xx says:

Saw your post over the official sgs2 thread. hehehe. anyway na lock pala yung thread na pinost ko na link sa taas. Sayang at may Samsung Mobile Philippines pa na employee na sumali sa thread na yun. For the rest of you guys (and gals) who would like to join the SGS2 conversation, go here:

Got mine as well. ok nmn sya super light. Im.novice to android coming from iis. hope mtutnan k dn toh agad.pde b tau mg update sa phone lang?

  8. Chris says:

That’s a firmware problem search mo nalang sa net ang solution.

  9. aa1372 says:

    • xx says:

I suggest we move our discussion over at tcp (tipidcp.com) para di naman masyadong mag-overload ang comments dito hehe. The thread there for SGS2 is this one:

      http://tipidcp.com/viewtopic.php?tid=17664

Hahaha. But I like the phone. Thanks guys for the exchanges.

    • aa1372 says:

  10. dz says:

got our phone na. kuya from globe called me at 9:12 am pupunta na daw sana sya. kaso sabi ko after 1 hour na lang. hehe. he was prompt naman at 10:30 :) loving it!

  11. aa1372 says:

  12. xx says:

Got my phone na. Maliit lang yung box.

    • oc says:

Kala ko next year pa dadating e.

  15. Chris says:

Nice.

    • Mitch says:

I’m in Iloilo pero I have a confirmed delivery date of July 2, but I cancelled my order of the phone. I had a confirmed pre-order din kasi sa samsung. I will only pay 26990 instead of 29790 for plan 299….

    • Chris says:

Well, I hope ang PANGAKO hindi MAPAPAKO. hahaha. July 2 sana yun kaso nag cutoff by 11:30 am kanina bago ako nakapagconfirm sa delivery address. Sayang.

    • aa1372 says:

  16. aa1372 says:

  18. Ram32185 says:

Same here. They will deliver mine bukas between 10am to 5 pm dn. Sa wakas.

    • Chris says:

I envy you guys. Mine was delayed but at least I am now assured that I have one reserved for me. Enjoy gadget guys and tell us when you receive it.

  19. dz says:

may kakatawag lang from globe… idedeliver daw nila tomorrow between 10am-5pm :D FINALLY!!! so we’re getting it before July 2 nga :)

    • Chris says:

They gave me a date earlier (July 2) and then suddenly sinabi na sorry for the inconvenience your handset delivery will be moved? WHAT?!?!? at wala pang sinabi kung kailan! ANO BAAAAAAAAa???!!!?!?!?!?!

  20. Chris says:

I have a delivery date ( July 2 ). How about you guys?

  21. aa1372 says:

SEE MORE at APPLY NOW! na lang, hahaha…

    • raptur3d says:

yup and ung fon free @ 3799.
promo lng ung 2499 para masabayan nila ung promo ng samsung. wla nmn cla sinabi na makukuha mu agad ung fon. hehe. misguided tau sa “pre-order” na word ng globe. they have a different meaning to it.

  22. ram32185 says:

been to sm north annex globe they have 5 stocks availbl pro wala sila info regarding sa line na inoofer.. ang sabi sa akn dpa daw sgro un for dispose.

  23. aa1372 says:

  24. dz says:

iniisip lang yata natin na pag pre-order, we get it before anyone else. sabagay hindi naman nila sinabi na ganun. baka nga yung “pre-order” is for the promo lang, ibig sabihin we’ll get it free at 2499. marketing strategy nga lang talaga yung “pre-order”.

    • raptur3d says:

    • xx says:

The real purpose of a PREORDER is to secure an order for an item para by the time it becomes available ikaw ang priority.

  26. raptu3rd says:

meron na ba tlga cla nabigyan ng unit bka delaying tactics lng to. ngemail sa akin ung isang taga salessupport@globetel sbi nya last week pa daw available ung units.
    eto b ung msg sau?
G0odm0rning! This is to inf0rm y0u that y0ur apps f0r p0stpaid plan (samsung galaxy s 2) has bee appr0ved, unf0rtunately we d0nt have st0ck yet f0r the said handset, we will call t0mm0rr0w regarding the delivery once handset be available. Thanky0u
    hahaha jejejejejemon ung ng txt

    • Chris says:

Na-Jeje ata tayo mga pre. Ganun din text sa akin. Kakainis naman.

    • xx says:

LOL!

      Talk about “valued” subscribers huh?

  27. Chris says:

Yipeee… I was just informed right now that my application was approved. Sadly, wala pa daw stocks sa SGS2 today. Confirm lang daw nila tomorrow regarding the delivery date of my unit kung meron na stocks. Anti-climactic talaga.

    • ram32185 says:

same here..got messgae today..and same din approved applciation ko pero wla pa daw stocks they call once availble para ideliver..another waiting time.

    • xx says:

I have received a text message as well. BUT…

Ain’t it funny how the ones who preordered were the ones who got ran out of stocks?

  28. ram32185 says:

grabe globe..launch na sa store bukas pero ung ng order ahead of launch till now wla pa tau feedback and di man lang mg inform kng naapprove or not. been to trinoma last night glove business center la rin sila idea na me ilalaucn na bago galaxy s2?parang wala sila proper channel of communication…pg nalaunch na sya I might go with the unlocked galaxy and pay it for cash.

  29. xx says:

I also preordered for HTC Sensation on Smart:

    http://smart.com.ph/htc1/

Atleast the release date is clear and you can choose where to pick up the unit (once approved). Would very much want the SGS2 sana kaso I don’t wanna buy it without a data plan na mamamaximize ko rin lang naman for two years, dun na lang ako sa kabila kung sakasakali.

  30. oc says:

    • xx says:

Kelan ka nag-apply online? Ika-7th day na since tinawagan ako pero hanggang ngayon wala pang tumawag ulit. sa tuesday yung ika-7th business day kung ganun pero kakaiba naman itong preorder process nila. It doesn’t primarily serve the purpose of preordering. Hope you guys can update us kung natawagan na kayo to confirm na dadating na unit nyo on a specified date as I will update you guys din kung may tumawag na sa kin.

  31. xx says:

Isn’t it strange how Globe’s customer service (both sales and account support whether via 211, facebook, twitter, e-mail or chat) are totally clueless of any updates regarding preorders? And how the online sales support team are unresponsive with regards to requests for any updates?

Globe doesn’t understand such a simple concept as “Preorder”.

    • xx says:

    • Chris says:

Available na everywhere this coming Monday ang SGS2. I was so excited about preorder and thought I could own an SGS2 before its release. Its really a big letdown.

  32. ram32185 says:

any one got their globe samsung glaxy s2 yet? still waiting for mine..

    • aa1372 says:

    • Chris says:

Same here… sabi nila they will contact within two working days. Approved or not they should contact us within that period given. Mahina talaga CS na Globe.

    • ram32185 says:

huling message nareceive k ng 22 na kontakin dw nila ko within two working days kinonfirm lng nila ntngap n nila mga requirements ko.pgkptos nun wala pa ulit..

    • aa1372 says:

    • xx says:

la pa rin sa kin… di pa sila tumatawag to confirm my preorder… may tumawag na ba sa yo kung kelan ipapadala yung unit??

  33. aa1372 says:

If Globe is favoring this price scheme di sana di na sila nagpapreorder preorder na promo pa. I’m a little pissed off with Globe right now.

    • aa1372 says:

buti pa ang pre-order ng Samsung… Ang bilis! galing!

  34. Mike says:

I’ve talked to some merchants and they are selling the Samsung Galaxy S2 for P28,900 (openline) when it comes out.

  35. aa1372 says:

pre-ordered June 18 pa, hanggang ngayon wala pa rin feedback, Globe talaga, paasa…

    • KernelSender says:

Me too. I’m completely disappointed by their lack of updates. Preordered last Sun, submitted my reqs & confirmed my preorder last Mon. Not a word from them eversince. My contract from them has already expired and if they don’t want me to stay as a subscriber then so be it. I’m switching to Smart tomorrow.

    • xx says:

Hahaha!

  36. LilBoyBlue says:

S2 selling for 30k in ghills. Hoping it drops once the July 2 release date comes :P

    • xx says:

Wow! Pretty good deal! A nice alternative for people who doesn’t want to be locked down to Globe! Wish Globe would also include those accessories sa magsa-subscribe sa kanila. Hehe. I’m also interested with the official desktop dock, leather case and BT Headset.

    • xx says:

By the way, if you view the webpage of Samsung Galaxy S2’s features on Globe’s site now (http://site.globe.com.ph/galaxy_s2?sid=TgH7NMuxpRcAAGgtKVAAAAFWe): They’ve corrected the erroneous plan 2799. It’s now 2499. Hehehe. Curiously, di nila binago yung feature na may NFC yung phone. Hmmmm. (Keep crossing fingers.)

    • aa1372 says:

      may delivery date ka na?

    • xx says:

La pa rin. No calls. No feedback. No anything. =(

      Kaw?

    • aa1372 says:

    • xx says:

Yeah, S2 din gusto ko. Unlocked yung bootloader ng Samsung kaya you can do almost anything to it (network unlock? hehehe). Pero kung malabo sa globe then I seek the next best deal whose plan is just about right for my usual mobile consumption.

    • xx says:

Still hoping? Hehehe. Based on some feedback, medyo mabagal daw talaga ang Globe sa mga online applications.

    • xx says:

      @aa1372 and ron
may tumawag na ba sa inyo?

    • xx says:

Pareho tayo. I preordered June 18 din. Pero in the afternoon na. Tapos late ko na na-check email ko that day kaya kinagabihan ko pa nasubmit dox ko. Kaya late na rin ako natawagan. Sabi sa kin either ngayon or tomorrow ko daw malalaman.

    • xx says:

Or I can go Sun with their cheaper rates and unlimited offerings and save up for the next iPhone this September or a nokia windows phone on the last quarter of this year.

      So many options…

    • xx says:

Sabi dito (tipped by Maki below): http://www.pinoytechblog.com/archives/samsung-galaxy-sii-pre-order-promo/
you can avail of the OPENLINE SGS2 at 26,990PhP PLUS may mga kasama pang accessories for free. Kaso lang sa July 2 pa lalabas. I don’t know what’s taking globe so long to confirm our preorders. Pero pag di ito magmaterialize baka ipa-terminate ko na lang pati old account ko sa kanila and avail of the HTCS sa kabila. I don’t know why pero humihina signal ng globe sa bahay namin lately e. Pero smart and sun full signal kahit sa loob looban pa.

    • aa1372 says:

    • xx says:

Di pa nga rin e. Ikaw? Hehehe. Update man dyan kung sino man ang confirmed yung preordered nila. Hehehe.

    • aa1372 says:

      natawagan ka na ulit?

    • xx says:

Yup.

    • xx says:

      Di pa po. Kayo po?

    • Zo says:

Yep, a rep told me pre-ordered units are available on 25-27, but knowing Globe, it’d all come down again to number of allocated units per Globe Center, so i suggest being really early on those dates to pick up your unit.

    • xx says:

Ang sabi sa kin ng sales agent between june 25 to 27 dadating yung mga units.

  38. Zo says:

awwww. globe’s just offering the i9100 model… making me think twice already…

    • xx says:

Pero nevertheless, that model is still very much capable. Kasi kahit sa India, i9100 pa rin naman (Super Amoled+ and Exynos pa rin instead of the supposed SLCD and Tegra). I’ve read a statement of NVIDIA before na mali yung sinasabing nagconfirm sila na may lalabas na ganun model (though di rin naman nila dinedeny). Well, I think I’d still enjoy this model whether there’s another model coming out or not.

  39. dumbul says:

hello, sana di na pinatulan ang post na to, i think past 4 SGS2 articles puro flame lang ang ginagawa nito

    • dumbul says:

in reference to the post below…

IDIOT SUCKERS are those who get this plan and get this phone at ridiculous price. Not because I don’t have the money but because i just find it funny. It just proves FILIPINOS are really stupid when it comes to money matters.

  40. mike says:

besides 2 year plan? In 6 months there will be a new technology, quad core ice cream sandwich tablet phones, with same network support and faster processor. In a year, 3G phones are obsolete. There’s no use buying the latest and greatest. And there’s no use getting tied up with one network committed to pay this much amount every month.

    • Chris says:

Mike, that’s the reality and how fast paced technology development is. Example, iPhone has 1 year tech cycle so every year you can expect another new iPhone model. Holding on because 6months or a year from now there will be a new technology that would replace the current technology is pointless like I’ll just buy next year because the technology is cooler but when that time comes you say again next year nalang kasi mas cooler ulit. It’s about the timing dude … you really don’t need a quad-core cellphone 6 months from now which by the way would again be subject to your unkind criticism of OVERLY PRICED TECHNOLOGY :) …

    • ztx says:

      obsolete*

    • ztx says:

LOL

  41. charles says:

boo they are not offering this one to existing subcribers even if the line will be upgraded to the 2499 plan.. boo globe!

    • yogz says:

yeah, its every man for himself on release day

  42. mike says:

for the above post from Mitch and ztx, I can easily buy this phone in cold cash. But what the heck will I buy this, I do not see it as too different or too improved from my current setup. Buying this phone at a ridiculous price just means I tolerate overpricing. I like buying affordable devices as I believe this would help a lot more people and send the message to manufacturers that they have to produce useful affordable phones for everyone. Technology should not just be limited to a few insecure, ego-boosting idiots. It is all about how you use the device to make yourself productive.

    • rporter says:

This is like saying “Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Chrysler, Daimler, General Motors, Porsche, and others should manufacture cars like Toyota do.”

If you can’t afford it then don’t buy it.

    • Chris says:

      How arrogant and disrespectful!

Have you come to think that even your 6000 Android phone is also OVERPRICED?

    • yogz says:

How incredibly self-centered and self-entitled. And you call out others on thier ego-boosters and insecurities?

“DONT LIKE WHAT I DONT LIKE!”

    • benj says:

its geeks who buy this phone..ang i think your not one of them……kaya po mahal ang phone its because of the specs and features,,,and i believe na ma maximize yung features ng phone if u avail the plan..hehehe opinion lang..

    • benj says:

it geeks who buy this phone..ang i think your not one of them……kaya po mahal ang phone its because of the specs and features,,,and i believe na ma maximize yung features ng phone if u avail the plan..hehehe opinion lang..

    • Mitch says:

We are not questioning your capacity to buy this phone so please dont publish it to the world that you can buy this phone with cold cash. Its your personal perspective that this device is overpriced and could not improve your current setup, so be it!! People have own personalities and say on what they want to buy or not. They are not your replicas. And besides you said it yourself and I will quote “It is all about how you use the device to make yourself productive”, so we find this device as useful and we have weighed the pros and cons of this device and also taking into consideration the price to buy it. RESPECT!!

    • LilBoyBlue says:

You just said it. It’s all about how you use the device. Haven’t you stopped and thought that people who are availing of the plan really use the free internet? Quit generalizing that everyone who avails of the plan are bandwagon junkies. Sure you have your own opinion but don’t go raining on anyone else’s parade if you have any beef with the product or telco.

You say it’s overpriced? Have you thought of the production cost of this phone and the cost of your oh so powerful 6k droid phone? It’s just like any other market in the world. Boy you must have a sad life. And you just made mine sadder because I just reacted to your post.

  43. mike says:

and to add to my post. I have a 6000 pesos dual sim android phone. I only use 10 peso per hour internet. I’m not pressured to surf the net. Besides I prefer surfing the net on a large screen. And I have a mobile wimax internet which is fast yet I only spend 900 pesos a month. I can’t seem to justify or see the need for this phone/plan .

IDIOT SUCKERS are those who get this plan and get this phone at ridiculous price. Not because I don’t have the money but because i just find it funny. It just proves FILIPINOS are really stupid when it comes to money matters.

    • Name: danL*it*h says:

hinay hinay lang mike ang puso mo.

    • Dennison Uy says:

6000 pesos dual sim na android? weh. sige nga anong brand tsaka model?

    • Mitch says:

pls have reservations when saying your comment here. I think you are going overboard. It doesn’t mean that if people get this phone at a phone plan they are stupid. We respect that you are comfortable using your 6000 pesos dual sim phone and that you prefer to surf the net on a large screen so please respect us for choosing this phone and getting it from globe. This is is a matter of individual preferences.

    • ztx says:

siguro nagka-N3210 itong taong ito last year lang? haha

      conceited much.

  44. mike says:

There’s really just a lot of idiot suckers in the Philippines. In the first place, you really won’t be able to spend 3000 pesos of load. Mobile internet is only 10 pesos per hour. There’s not much difference if you buy a 15k phone with a 30k peso one. THIS IS ALL MARKETING HYPE AND WHAT THE POSTERS ABOVE JUST DEFINES WHAT ‘SUCKERS’ MEAN.

    • benj says:

oh come on….there no difference between a 15k phone to a 30k one!!!! its like saying that there is no diffence between a honda and a ferrari… ;)

    • mike says:

there is, but it is often negligible. What’s 2 second difference when loading a page? I use my 6000 peso android dual sim phone just about anywhere, inside jeepneys, divisoria market, baclaran, crowded streets, and i does not attract attention. Try using this and someone will probably shoot you dead and grab your phone. 2 second difference for a your life.

    • Techie_girl says:

To put things in perspective, I know of a cheaper Android phone, less than 6k but I still buy the latest handsets. It’s not because I’m a sucker but it’s because phones interest me and I CRAVE technology. It’s about fueling your knowledge/interests. When I was in high school, my family didn’t have internet or access to the latest technology. We had a homework that had something to do with technology and naturally, I didn’t get it right, then I discovered the Internet, computers, gadgets, and Moore’s Law. I’m hooked, its not enough that I just read these things, I have to experience them. So every 6 months or so I upgrade my gadgets and sell the old ones. If I’m lucky, I only pay around 1,000 depreciation value for my stuff.

I don’t know if this is accurate analogy but if you have the money would you rather put your child in Ateneo or save your money and put them in public school? Of course its about fueling your child’s future/knowledge. Same thing, I’m fueling my interests/ knowledge.

Like enterprise server. Etc..

Pero i think it make sense in some point na pwd m mkachat lahat ng BB users anytime u want, in other messenger na nabanggit mo kelangan m pa mag add ng contact para makachat m.

    • Steve Jobs says:

      You mean like the
BlackBerry Messenger and the upcoming Apple iMessage?
      Wala yata ganyan si Samsung.

    • bkt says:

    • xx says:

Android doesn’t have that feature yet, though they have GTalk and other messengers. Google is said to be developing something that would compete with iMessage and BBM.

SGS2 has additional enterprise features (Microsoft Exchange Active Sync, VPN, Cisco WebEx, MDM and on device encryption).

  46. driftracer85 says:

I’m sure this would work better with SMART LTE…

    • xx says:

SGS2 is not LTE capable, only HSPA+ capable (up to 21mbps). (Again) It is labeled as a 4G phone because of the marketing of HSPA+ as 4G in the US and other countries.

      List of LTE-capable phones here:
      http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/finder_results.php?m=s&w=s&f30r=r&f30_16=y

All of which are still not marketed here via official channels dahil di pa naman available commercially ang LTE on any network (YET!). Kung iisipin, LTE technology on phones has not yet fully matured (such that it consumes too much space on the device and consumes battery fast when used).

I’m sure the SGS2 would also work well with the HSPA+ network of Smart when they’ll launch plans of greater speeds commercially using the said technology. That’s why this phone is pitted against HTC Sensation because both can handle HSPA+, though HTC Sensation can only handle HSPA+ speeds of up to 14.4mbps.

HSPA+ technology currently is capable of speeds of up to 84mbps and future revisions can even yield 168mbps or even 672mbps in its advancement. So you can’t really belittle HSPA+ when comparing to real 4G standards.

With all these “4G” talk, I’m really beginning to wonder if the networks will really give us mind-blowing speeds. First and foremost, kelangan ba talaga natin ng ganun kabilis na speed? I think these technologies were developed to enhance the capacity of the network but with regards to the speed, it would somehow plateau on a certain level.

      I talk too much

  47. wreek888 says:

Its not worth it for the middle to lower class people.

  49. Fboi says:

Blah.. Anung apps naman available jan.. Ganda nga specs BORING NAMAN NG APPS.. iphone4 ftw! Di nmn madistinguish kung samsung hawak mo “payabang wise”.. Same old plastiky handset, unknown.

    • Steve Jobs says:

Tama. I’m using Samsung Galasy S 2”. Kasi nga its plasticky. Wala kasing mga identity ganyang mga Phone. Unlike iPhone, malayo palang, alam mo na iPhone.

One more thing… nag stop yata production nyan kasi under Restraining order ng Apple. Ginaya kasi ang iPhone looks and feel.

Got mine from HK this June 17, 2011..

It cost about 5000 HKD, about 28.1k php(5.6 hkd to php)

Been through hell getting this because they have VERY LIMITED SUPPLY! They say the have a stock in their warehouse but they will get it as soon as you pay them. A bit dangerous right? But lucky I found a shop in Mongkok Computer Center in Mongkok that has a stock already in their store. Again, they won’t let you open it (Samsung Galaxy S2 sealed box) until you pay them.

If you want to buy this here in ph, get it fast!! It has VERY, i repeat, VERY LIMITED SUPPLY! =)

    God Bless all!

    Yehey! Malapit na :D

  52. Zo says:

Any news if this is the i1903 or the i1900 model?

  53. chris says:

is this available for current subscribers who want to re-new their 2 year contract with globe?

don’t see it in their website though..

    • yogz says:

talked to a csr via webchat

from what i understood, you cant preorder unless youre getting a NEW line. tapos bakbakan nalang sa 27 for a unit.
I got a bit confused with one of the responses. It goes, it doesnt necessarily mean that when you renew you can get the s2, then later she goes, that my lockup is free and i can avail the phone. So, uh, yeah… So can I get it or cant I? lol.

    • chris says:

      Thanks for the reply!

YES! exactly, globe CSRs have been very non-helpful in helping retain their current subscribers. i’ve been very disappointed with globe, and their customer retention plan aka loyalty rewards. i though they would be more aggressive with their reward offers since smart gobbled up sun cellular. am actually thinking of convincing my dad to move all our lines to smart.. since all of us are out of our 2-year lock in with globe, and we’ve been with globe for around 8 years now..

    • yogz says:

yeah i find it dumb that the priority for the “reward” is more towards those who MAY avail of a new line rather than those who have already been giving them money and are interested in locking themselves in giving them more money! ridiculous!

    • xx says:

Yeah. Sa US, ikaw pa oofferan ng mga high end phones before your contract ends para lang mag-stay ka sa network nila. Pwede ka rin pumili ng latest sa line-up ng phones nila as long as swak sa plan mo or mag-upgrade ka. It’s totally a different scenario here. My guess is that most of the subscribers whose contract has expired didn’t want to be inconvenienced by changing numbers pag lumipat sila ng network kaya tanggap na lang sila ng tanggap ng mga loyalty offers kahit di gaanong maganda yung offer before. Kaya medyo malakas ang loob ng network. They reserve the “hot phones” for new plans. Limitado din siguro ang supply nila for the new phones kaya they’d prioritize new lines. Pero siguro kung marami ang mag-terminate ng account after contract and transfer to another network dahil di maganda ang offer baka mag-iba ihip ng hangin. I don’t see the point also why they won’t offer these new phones for an upgrade or a new contract for their old subscribers kung maganda naman ang record ng subscriber. Atleast tested and proven na na nakakabayad yung lumang subscriber. Ako naman, I’m willing to let go of my number kung wala akong mahanap na workaround to retain my current mobile spending.

  54. aa1372 says:

nag-apply na ako kanina, plan my super surf 999, 21,534 ang cash-out.

    • ron says:

Magkano kaya yung cashout sa 1799 my supersurf plan nila? Tnx

    • xx says:

In-update na po ng Globe webpage nila. If you clicked the “preorder now” button from the home page, it will take you to the feature page of SGS2 (just before the preorder form page) where it now states it’s free @2499 at a limited time, as compared to the previous 2,799 plan which was erroneously displayed before.

Meron nga ba kaya itong model na to?

    • MV says:

Nakakalito nga yung mga csr ng globe. I asked about “plan 2799” and it’s not in their system. The cash-out for plan 2499 daw is P6,839 which contradicts the other comment saying it’s free for 2499.

    • xx says:

Ganyan din inoffer ng tumawag sa akin sa umpisa pero then kinonfirm ko via chat (sa website ng globe) kung ano ba talaga yang nakalagay sa preorder now and get it at 2799 for a limited time only, nagreply nga sila na 2,499 daw dapat yun na promo for preordering online only. So I told the sales agent what the chat support told me and I asserted na nag-preorder ako online therefore I should be entitled to the promo tapos vinerify nya, after a few minutes, tama nga daw na free for 2499. Kaya yun. I think medyo magulo pa ang information being handed to the sales team. What they have are regular pricelists pagkatapos ng preorder promo for the phone. Truth of the matter is, I won’t bite pag 3799 yung plan kasi I know my consumption (it averages 3,300 per month). And 2,499 would be just right for me as my second plan, as I’m planning to downgrade my old plan for superduo calls only on a dumb phone para di madrain battery ng sgs2 ko pag maraming tawag (at the same time na-retain ko pa old numbers ko) so lalabas around 3,300 pa rin all in all per month.

    • aa1372 says:

      15,677 cash-out +1799 :)

    • ron says:

plan ko din kasi kumuha ng plan 999, hehe naeexcite ako kumuha sana naman tumawag na sila hehe sana mali yung nakausap ko sa csr na for plan 2499 lang yung preorder kasi parang hindi practical kung hindi naman ako heavy user ng call and text, more on internet kasi ako,..

    • aa1372 says:

  55. mike says:

why get this? GALAXY S IS SELLING FOR 16K! GO GET GALAXY S AS IT IS BETTER VALUE

    • dumbul says:

    • yogz says:

cuz some people want the features it brings along with it? Or they want the latest stuff?

  56. Mitch says:

Its available @ plan 299 for a cash out price of 29770

    • xx says:

hmmm… so it may surpass the 30k mark for prepaid after all? How about for my supersurf plan 1799 and 2499 kaya?

    • Mitch says:

actually if you pre-oreder now until the 24th is free under plan 2799, pro when i asked the customer service, its free @ plan 2499.

its actually more expensive than iphone4 for the cash out price at plan 299…huhuhu

    • xx says:

It would probably be more expensive because of the specs alone tsaka 1 year old na ang iPhone 4. Tapos kung free sya at plan 2499 bakit pa nagka-plan 2799? hehehe

  57. Mememe says:

    • xx says:

Believe it or not, may mga taong nagbabayad ng bill nila ng 2,500 at mahigit pa. Mas marami sigurong heavy postpaid users (thus higher plans) ang globe kesa sa iba kaya they can afford to give these units for free at higher plans.

    • power says:

    • xx says:

E nagkataong eto pang top of the line phone ang inooffer ng globe. They have the iPhone and Galaxy S2 sa line-up nila.

  59. Prangka says:

Tama! Exclusively sa Globe on the 1st month pero on the 2nd month mabibili mo na yan sa Samsung Store, Viramall at CMKCellPhones at a cheaper price. Besides why buy it at a postpaid plan when you can buy it at a cheaper price on prepaid.

  60. wiiw says:

  61. not-a-sucker says:

    Hello

Anyone know if non-Globe units will have NFC too? (BTW, please don’t reply with “and you need NFC for what?? we don’t use NFC here…” im a developer and NEED NFC)

  62. sonomer says:

  63. xx says:

And from the feature page of globe:
Equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, your phone can now also make contactless payments by connecting to compatible payment terminals.
So it’s the NFC variety! Wow. Though we may not find any use of it now but atleast it’s there when the time comes.

    • aa1372 says:

    • xx says:

GT-i9100 din ang version na lumabas sa UK nung end of April or May right? Yun ang may Exynos 4210 and Super AMOLED Plus. It was said that initially the first UK release shipped without the NFC capability but they’d re-release the same device with the NFC capability in a later time. So baka meron na. I’m still hopeful unless yung source mo mismo nagsabi na walang NFC and Samsung confirms it.

    • aa1372 says:

Globe ang source ko ng info.

sabi nila GT-i9100 ang S2 nila… i9100 ay walang NFC capability..

      GT-i9101 ang version ng S2 na meron…

    • xx says:

I was hoping na meron since it coincides with the rumors na ngayong June lalabas ang NFC capable version in different countries (esp. UK), if wala then it’s ok pa rin naman. Hope they didn’t cripple the hotspot feature din.

    • aa1372 says:

      GT-i9101 ang may NFC technology.

      GT-i9100 ang dito sa Pinas.

  64. Neil says:

Haha. Globe! 4G ba talaga yan? Eh sa UK 3.5G lang yan eh. Sus!

    • xx says:

Eh di sa UK ka tumira!

    • yy says:

ah ok. i stand corrected. mali ako ^_^

    • yy says:

pre, parang mali ang banat at pamimilosopo mo ah! hahahe

sinasabi nga nya sa 3.5G LANG sa uk e. bkt dun mo sya patitirahin! hahaha

    • d says:

    • xx says:

My banat is completely valid you know, vitwater! Hahaha!

First and foremost, meron bang telecom dito sa Pilipinas na nag-ooffer ng 6mbps na speed na kasama sa mobile plan nila? Wala! Not all telecoms on different countries are created equal. It all boils down to what you want to think 4G is. Merong set-up for LTE pero di rin naman totoong 4G ang LTE lang.

    • xx says:

Actually, SGS2 is HSPA+ capable. Which means if your definition of 4G is like the ones in the US (AT&T and T-Mobile proclaims HSPA+ to be 4G), then it is 4G capable. Globe, I reckon, is just riding along with the US marketing of 4G. Which is ok I guess as long as the bandwidth keeps improving. Soon they’ll be offering LTE as well. And then hopefully LTE Advanced when the technology is ripe.

    • croke says:

  65. wiiw says:

ilang years pag nag plan ka sa globe mga sers like 2799 plan if you pre-order now?

    • benj says:

    • xx says:

AFAIK, all current postpaid plans availing of a free phone will have a two year contract. If SIM only (without the phone), there’s no lock-in period.

    • benj says:

    • xx says:

Wow… thought the reply I made before this one and the other replies I made down the line a few hours ago didn’t get posted… now they all suddenly appeared and I look like a spammer…

    • xx says:

The preorder page from Globe has now been corrected:
      http://site.globe.com.ph/galaxy_s2?sid=TgHfPMuxpRcAACRxjy8AAACBe

It now reads preorder now and you can get it Free with My SuperSurf plan 2499 (instead of the erroneous 2,799 which was previously posted). Kinda curious though that they haven’t edited the NFC capability of their SGS2 still in the list of features. Meron nga kaya? Anybody would like to confirm it with Samsung Mobile Philippines?

even if you have paid cash-out for the device at plan 299, the price that you actually paid has been subsidized (DAW) by globe. Pero if you can actually afford to pay the price at that range, might as well go to other markets (greenhills, ebay, sulit, tcp) dahil halos ganun din presyo (or sometimes even lesser).

Feedback lang for those who needed a few more details, though minsan nagkakaiba ng version sa iba ibang agents ng globe. Their sales called me up a while ago regarding my preorder last Saturday.

-Sabi nga ni Mitch, Globe is offering the Samsung Galaxy S 2 FREE for MySuperSurf plan 2,499 for a limited time only (which is I guess within the preorder period) and thru the online preorder form only.

-There’s no plan 2,799 (they said it was a typographical error).

-Come launch date June 27, the SGS2 will no longer be offered free @ plan 2499, instead it will be free for plan 3,799. You can still get it at plan 2499 but you have to pay 6,836 for the unit (on top of MSF).

Again, I may have gotten a few details wrong kasi minsan nagkakaiba ang feedback from them pero that’s what I have confirmed from the sales support agent that I have spoken with.
