MetroDeal buys Bigalaang Lakad Fan Page?

New group-buying site, Metro Deal, buys popular Facebook Fan Page of “Buti Pa Ang Biglaang Lakad Natutuloy; Ang Planado, Hindi!” with over 500,000 fans. Ok we’re not really sure if there’s a sale but MetroDeal has already taken control of the FB Page since it launched.

The biggest challenge for new group-buying sites is attracting new email subscribers, Twitter followers and Facebook Fans. The usual approach is to do ad campaigns on FB, Google Adwords and other ad networks which is very expensive, just like what Ensogo did.

Buying an already popular FB Fan Page is definitely a cheaper and much faster alternative. For how much was the 500,000-strong Fan Page was bought is another question that remains to be answered.

Now that’s another way to make money online! :D

Sorry, but when I go to their website, their Facebook fanpage bears their actual name. Is this some kind of scam news?

      Johnny,

This news is true, That’s I’m shocked when I saw the page with the name of their company “Metro deal”

Last time i checked it about a month ago it’s still “Buti Pa Ang Biglaang Lakad Natutuloy; Ang Planado, Hindi!”

Can somebody tell me how did they change the name of the page? changing the name of the page with more than 100 likes is not possible as per facebook.

So what exactly is new about this? As far as I know they are around for more than half a year already and this fanpage has been with them ever since. What exactly is new about this?

Yugatech, now I really remember why you’ll never reach the genius of a Techcrunch.

New thing? Let me put it this way

Money value – How much was invested on this page? Page was on fb server. Are you now getting the point Junior? Some lucky pinoy made a funny page and for some marketing reasons his page was bought with only spending time on his side.

with regards to Yugatech not being a tech crunch someday, look further bro he’s the no.1 tech blog in Asia. Besides, TC has a lot of writers and commentators on board.

I had fan pages before that i sold, even more than 500k mark. If you have a viral page then sell it asap. On US fan pages are valued at $0.01 per fan imagine if you have more than 500k fans, their are times that fan pages which are funnier are more marketable than the serious ones

was approached before by a really popular guy in the phil blogosphere that he wanted to buy my 500k fan page also, there was really a serious money on the table especially if your fan page is a niche. but i din’t go for the deal because i have a few web projects that needs it (fan page)

    • Avatar for hd hd says:

so magkano naman offer sa fanpage mo? ano bang niche yan? baka pwed sa cpalead yan, tiba tiba ka diyan

    • Avatar for Rodel Rodel says:

it’s local travel niche, i tried slapping it with cpalead it won’t work hence, i settled with adsense, linkshare, nuffnang and infolinks for the time being.
