A new i-mobile smartphone has appeared online bearing the name IQ5.1, sporting a 5.3-inch display and a quad-core processor.
The i-mobile IQ5.1 sports a 5.3-inch display (probably qHD resolution), a quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with microSD support, 12 megapixel BSI rear camera, 2 megapixel BSI front-facing, dual-SIM capabilities and Android 4.1.2 Jellybean.
If you’re not familiar with i-mobile. It is a smartphone brand from Thailand that has made its way here through our local brands namely Starmobile and Cherry Mobile. Currently we have the i-mobile IQ2 which is the Starmobile Crystal, the i-mobile IQ3 which is the Starmobile Flirt, the i-mobile IQ4 which is the Starmobile Diamond, and the i-mobile IQ6 which is the Cherry Mobile Omega HD. The question now is will it ever make it here and who’ll be the first to market?

Underpowererd says:
Snapdragon 200 is not very impressive for power-hungry users. Qualcomm’s processor features quad-core ARM Cortex-A5 CPUs with speeds of up to 1.4GHz per core, an Adreno 203 GPU, LPDDR2 RAM, GPS, multi-SIM capability and support for up to 8MP cameras, HD video playback and CDMA or UMTS modems. Nothing shouts high-tech there, but seeing as the Snapdragon 200 aims to conquer the entry-level smartphone market that’s to be expected.
For Sure the SoC to be used will be MSM8225Q (Same with Cherry Mobile Flare)
JP™ says:
I agree with underpowererd and ben qualcomm snapdragon 200 processors is too outdated.. were still hoping na snapdragon 400 sana ang gmitin cpu..
Ben says:
Qualcomm recently released 2 “budget” series of CPUs, Snapdragon 200 and 400 series. Why even settle for the former eh pareho naman sila budget CPUs?
@Toni Poster’s point is that the 200 series is somewhat outdated and is not even considered “good/great” in terms of value for performance anymore. GPU pa lang, plus A5 chip talo ka na. 2012 yep good na good pa yan. pero ang bilis ng teknolohiya, dami ng budget friendly smartphones dyan na bang for your buck talaga compared dyan. The best example would be MP’s A919i, na hindi nga ako bumili coz inaantay ko ilalabas ng CM. kaya i sincerely hope hindi eto ang ilalabas nila para sa skyfire 2.0(?) nila.
Toni Uy says:
I can’t get exactly what your point is but the Snapdragon 200 processors are designed to deliver a balance of value and performance, including robust connectivity and better battery life for entry level smartphones.
Ano bang gusto mong application ang patakbuhin sa CP mo, Adobe After Effects o Autocad?
venz says:
Actually my punto si Underpowered.. lahat ng sinabi nya is about technology of android phones.. nasa mid level mga specs n yan and that means ms makakless tayo.. qng lalagyan nila yan ng magagndang specs hhnap sila ng pweding irebrand.. puro kasi rebranded.. kung gagawa sila ng high end cguro mahal n din..

Hey, calling the attention of Chery Mobile! hehe
The first time I’ve read regarding the CM Omega HD, I posted a comment that I hope CM comes out with a similar model but with a quad-core CPU. Now, this will be my next mobile if the local brands include this in their portfolio. :-)
Angelo says:
Hope CM will rebrand Umi x2, its also 5″ and It’s design is almost the same as OHD :)
