i-mobile IQX appears online, 18MP camera in tow

This should raise a few eyebrows. A new i-mobile Android smartphone has appeared online, carrying a quad-core processor and an 18 megapixel camera – the IQX.

While we’re not entirely sure if the i-mobile IQ5.1 will ever land locally, here we are with another i-mobile offering that we hope to be rebranded and offered by our local brands.

The i-mobile IQX sports a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720, 312ppi) HD LCD with Corning Glass. It has an 18 megapixel AF BSI rear camera with dual-LED flash, an 8 megapixel AF BSI front-facing, 4GB of internal storage, support for 3G and HSPA networks, and dual-SIM capabilities. Running under the hood is a MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.2 Jellybean.

Benchmark scores are already available for the device. It scored 13,061 on AnTuTu and 4,012 on Quadrant Standard. Sample shots of the 18 megapixel camera are also available. Just visit i-mobile’s Facebook page to check it out.

If ever IQX gets rebranded, who do you think should bring this in? Cherry Mobile or Starmobile? Share your thoughts below.

  1. The next KNIGHT of the Philippines!

  2. taena, wag starmobile… kahit sino basta wag lang yang mga lokong mahilig mag overprice. shet!

    • Sana nga..prayers can move mountains..huwag sana Starmobile makakuha neto…kundi katakut takot na premium ang ipapataw dito….tubong lugaw to the max kung nagkataon

    • Cherry Mobile makakuha? AYAAAAAWWW!!!

  3. Sana lang kunin to ng local phone distributors natin. IMO looks like an Iphone pag dating sa likod. hehe. BTW na kita ko sa ibang site na this will be available in thailand mga last week of May and it would cost around 13k plus pesos (8k – 10k baht)

  5. Ano kaya battery life nito?

  6. sana cm will rebrand this

  7. I’m gonna have to go with Starmobile. Even if their “patong” is huge. Not having to wait long at their service centers unlike Cherry Mobile justifies the premium.

    • long waits? eh ang dami kaya bumibili ng products ng CM compared to Starmobile… isip2x din

    • isip2x din benzsarz, no logic ka brad. daming bumibili + daming sira + bad after sales = long lines. HAHAHAHAHA

    • @Nyuk: Cherry Mobile… Big HHHMMMMMMMMMM… ^_^

  8. cool! parang iphone nga hehe, i hope cm will get this one.

  9. Do I smell an A878X?

  10. 8 mp ff camera?i think thats too much for video call =))

  11. Cherry Mobile sana since it is now clear to us that they offer phone at a cheaper price compared to other local brand(oo na, Starmobile in particular) and makakaasa tayo na maaring makatikim tayo ng mga Software Updates( Cherry Mobile does that on some of their phone like Titan etc.). What do you think guys?

  12. I can fortell the A878X
Slap that map on the back

  13. Dual sim? Ka sad ng life mo oi.

    • fan karin ba ni adduconyo? hehe

  14. Yup hopefully Cherry Mobile makukha ng rights nito..definitely much cheaper pag sila eh..
Here’s an unboxing video of I-Mobile IQ X.

Back to the phone, 18 MP camera with 4 GB internal storage? The internal storage is out of sync with the camera features. Walang SD Card slot sa Specs. You take few pictures at 18MP and your are done with this phone.

    • @zarne : May microsd card slot siya. research research din pag may time.

  16. I must admit this is a very impressive piece of hardware. Yes, it looks like an iPhone indeed. Methinks it would be great if MyPhone rebranded this just in time for school. It could be a HUGE sale for students. I’m just thinking that if it would be rebranded by Cherry Mobile, the “premium” feel to this phone would be lost by a large amount since of the customer service.

  17. I’m very satisfied with CM’s support. My daughter accidentally sat on her phone and it broke the screen but still CM replaced it with a new unit and they even replaced the charger on the spot when thy see ita not charging.. no question ask.

I don’t know na baka very cheap ang kuha nila sa unit that’s why they can replace the unit outright. Up to now (9 mons) OK pa rin yung replacement.

  19. According to this site, the camera is actually 12.7MP and software interpolation was used to increase the MP count to 18 but the fun part is that the front cam is really 8MP. Yay!

Then this link is to a thread about the IQ X with benchmarks and everything. It seems it uses the PowerVR SGX 544MP gpu. XD

  21. released na ba to sa thailand?

  22. Unfortunately it’s now with Starmobile.

    • Unfortunately, wala kang pera pambili.

  23. mas gaganda pa sna2 kung gagawin nlang 2gb ram :D :)

  24. Haha! Natatawa ko sa mga comment nyo. Daming bitter at haters e. Keep your comments for yourselves. Wag na judge sa iba. To be released daw ang SM Knight around 1st week of July. Hahahaha!

  25. Hello, in Thailand we also have the IQ9 with a bigger screen (5.7) but I wonder if it is proposed in the philippines ? It costs almost the same price and has exactly the same features as IQX. Thanks for reply. Personal-Shopper-Bangkok.

  26. I got my sm knight its one of the most cheap high end smartphone it would be much better if the screen size same as s4 and 2gb ram.

  27. I own an IQX, I love the design and the quality of camera both front and back. My friends recently have followed my foot step.
But I would like to recommend you about its keyboard on the button P is hard to type why I am lying on the table.

One more thing, how much is IQX 2 in USD?
    Thanks
