I think for its price (4999) it’s a suitable budget smartphone. With its specs, it’s not a total wreck. Galing ng MyPhone at naisip nilang ibaba ang presyo with these specs. Sana maglabas ulit sila.

MT6582m = 540×960 (qHD) display support

MrPhabletBulacan says:
thanks sa link, this is good indicative of soc performance, gaming can really bring out what a soc can do and not just some GUI lag test…
2toyzki says:
Lenovo a859 has also the same setup (mtk6582m, 720p screen, 1gb ram) smooth na smooth sya. Tried an hd game on it (gta san andreas) suuper smooth, d kaya ng mtk6589 ng kasing smooth ng mtk6582. So walang problema sa hardware, capped lng tlg yung framerate ng rom nya. The a919 also has d same issue pero naayos ng yonip team.

2toyzki says:
May ganyang set up din yung lenovo a859 pero smooth yon. Software issue lang talaga yung sa Rio.
2toyzki says:
Mtk6582m fully supports 720p resolution according to Mediatek, it is pretty much powerful than mtk6589 on OmegaHD2.0 and MyPhone a919i due to better graphics processor on 6582/m
minix says:
MT6582M support only qHD(960x 540) screen resolution, while the newer version MT6582 without “M” support 1280 x 720.
kaya siguro laggy ang screen ninyo ?
The hero of power-packed flagship Chinese Smartphones, as well as low-cost quad-core Android Smartphones MediaTek is preparing a new SoC to add to their successful lineup. A quad-core by design, new chipset aims to drive Smartphone prices further south.
Dubbed the MediaTek MT6582, the new chipset bears many similarities with the MediaTek MT6592 (the super duper popular one). Both are quad-core by design, based on the ARM Cortex A7 core. The max core clock for the MT6582 being 1.3 GHz, a full 100 MHz more than the MT6592. Both pack the same PowerVR SGX544MP GPU clocked at 286 MHz. However, the new low(er) cost SoC will only support displays up to 720p (unlike 1080p in the present chipset), 8 to 13 MP cameras, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 3G and GPS. Another cut-down version of the chipset, dubbed the MT6582M, will be made available, but will only support qHD (960 x 540) displays.
minix says:

Try playing asphalt8 on high graphics settings on cherry mobile flare S vs. Cherry mobile burst 2.0 at kkainin mo sinabi mong mas malakas ang powervrsg544 vs. mali400mp2
2toyzki says:
Ilang mtk6582m na 720p na nahawakan mo sir?
abuzalzal says:
Just so you know, Mas inferior ang MALI 400 kesa sa PowerVr Sgx544MP.
The lag is quite telling….samantalang yung mga SoC ng OHD2, Apollo, A919i napaka smooth ng transitions…ever wonder why is it so darn Cheap?

Bibili na din sana ko buti nagbasa ko ng reviews. According to feedbacks, laggers daw talaga yung phone.
bradley says:
mawawala po ung lag pagnaroot at nadownload ang seeder 2.0,activate it and super smooth na ang rio mo…konting knowledge sa android lang po yan!!,ung pagroot just download FRAMAROOT 1.9,install it and choose barahir, restart phone and rooted ka na
AA says:
Yung MediaTek MT6582M is not optimized for HD screens kaya may lag parin daw.

Kyle says:
lmao. This guy is using my Hubpage, which contains my review of the Rio, as his website. Then Ronnie Bulaong here sends me a message on Facebook with an angry tone.
Even if I was the person who actually posted that, it’d still be unprofessional conduct. Seriously, watch who you accuse first, Mr. Bulaong.
Better yet, remove the ‘website’ field from replies altogether. I can claim to be from other tech blogs like Unbox, Gadget Pilipinas, etc and leave nasty comments here.

Magaling ang price nito. Kumpetetib! Pwede na
2toyzki says:
Hardware is pretty good for its price but the software kills it. There seems to be a problem with its kernel. It is slow, lags, u wont feel that youre using a quadcore, even a 1ghz single core feels much smoother than this piece of beauty. I own one since last saturday, i sold my myphone cyclone for it now i miss cyclone’s overall smoothness
anthony says:
you just need to download SEEDER 2.0 and activate it and lag would be gone
southpark says:
that’s what we call arrogant

Kung makareply to si 2toy kala mo lahat ng tao nangiinsulto ng intelligence mo.
2toyzki says:
@zobel wrong reply ka ata, yung mga cnsb mo hnd mo na kelangan sbhn saken yan, i already bought a couple of android phones most of them are rooted, flashed with with custom recoveries, flashed with custom rom (if available) tweaked, repartitioned and swapped in under 24hrs since i bought them (including this rio). I know all the risks that youre talking abt.
Zobel says:
pag ganyan you need to partition your internal storage pa. And it’s riskier than rooting.
2toyzki says:
I think the rom is capped @15-30fps, It feels like the old nokia 5800 that i once owned.
abuzalzal says:
Doesn’t support MicroSD card install, which is the major downside of this phone, pero ewan ko kung may hack ito.
abuzalzal says:
@John Hinde ko kailangan opinion mo. Masmautak ako kaysa sa iyo. Gawa ka sarili mong comment.
John says:
May solution, dapat nakaroot ka, then swap partition ng sd card at extsdcard :)

Ouch, mas mura pa sa MyPhone A919i :(
