Sony Mobile has officially announced their new flagship phones, the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL.
The Xperia Z is the flagship handset has a 5-inch 1080p LED display, packing a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor and Adreno 320 graphics with 2GB RAM.
Sporting a 2300mAh battery, the Xperia Z will have all the standard connectivity — WiFi, HSPA+, LTE, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. It’s so thin too at 7.9mm. The handsets will have Android Jellybean 4.1 right out of the box. The Xperia Z is IP5/IP7 certified giving it dust and water resistance.
The Xperia ZL will have the same specs but will be a bit more compact. It’s a bit chunkier too at 9.8mm. Both handsets will have a 13MP Exmor RS camera that can do HDR on both stills and video.
We will be going to Singapore next week to attend the Xperia regional launch there on the 14th to 16th. We’ll share more of this next week.

mm says:
i like buzzes floating up here and there on how these phones be compared to an unofficial phone (s4) from samsung.. i know s4 will become 2013’s smartphone again if sammy will listen to the concerns of the market.. ..if and only if.. u can prove that u can beat all 1080p displays out here even with this mobile BRavia 2, prove that u can make ur DESIGN more appealing and compact, make TOUCHWIZ more elegant coz im truly in love with the most elegant UI ryt now–Sony’s timescape,.. add phone ACCESSORIES, improve BATTERY performance, use the newly released PROCESSORS, :D
anyways u hav a lot of money now, so im sure dat u have a wild team ryt now which are really QUIET i think, maybe tremendously preparing for s4 release..
more time to wait and compare the two :D march release for xperia Z, hoping that on march, samsung will make s4 official before the market turns in favor with sony..
htc butterfly, how r u?
red says:
sammy will still rule this year, but sony sales will climb, up to the point “its payback time” :))

Hey Samsung! Sony just Called.
he’s telling you to layoff the plastic and pack your bags cause he’s coming back to where he should be.
ivan borgonos says:
dude what accessories are you saying? you can project it in your LED TV with NFC feature, and also for wide screen viewing you can connect it to your wifi TV, you can use the Sony Smart Tags for added feature. if you want to have a Sony smart watch then you can connect that with this phone. Sony produce those Phone accessories unlike Sammy. and you’re saying the Latest processor? i believe that Qualcomm MDM9215M / APQ8064 Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait is the LATEST processor of Qualcomm.
mark says:
sir pa check nang post nyu if im right sony xperia Z is the one having IP57-certification..
lei says:
Korek! Xperia Z has the IP55/IP57 certification but no camera button, has tampered glass back. Xperia ZL is not waterproof but has dedicated camera button.
Sometimes too much excitement gets people to post the incorrect info. But we have a thing called “review before publishing”.
A says:
Both the xperia z and xperia zl have dedicated camera button. We have a thing called “review before publishing” right? ;)
Clyde says:
@A wala pong dedicated camera button ang xperia Z. We have a thing called “review before publishing” right?
pio says:
Mga sir… siguro panahon na pra kayo naman ang sabihan ko ng “read and understand first before comment” ang pagkakaintindi ko po sa review ng Yugatech is napakalinaw….
ang sabi nila ” The Xperia Z is IP5/IP7 certified giving it dust and water resistance.
Napakaklaro pa po sa sikat ng araw na Xperia Z ang tinutukoy nilang dust and water resistant and not the xperia ZL… the only thing na mali ay there is no such term as IP5/IP7 instead dapat IP55/IP57…
Yugatech deserves a apology from you mga sirs…. tnx
pio says:
Sorry for typo error *a must be “an” apology…
joyce baello says:

nick says:

LG WILL LAUNCH its LG OG2……
Donzzy says:
I just wish Xperia Zed has a physical home button and a dedicated camera button. All specs are amazing except for the display (TFT capacitive touchscreen) – could have been a Super AMOLED or qHD IPS perhaps. :)
