Belkin Philippines, together with Pismo Digital Lifestyle Inc., officially launches the new Linksys WRT-1900ac router in our country.
The WRT-1900 is one the first few devices that was launched after Belkin acquired Linksys back in 2013. It hails from Linksys’ highly-regarded WRT lineup which brought us the popular WRT-54G.
Feature-wise, the WRT-1900ac is as feature-packed as they come. Some of its basic features include support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, four multi-directional (and removable) antennas and support for 802.11ac and 3 MIMO spatial streams.
Now if we dive a little deeper in to its feature set, we’ll see that it actually runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core ARM processor with 256MB RAM which keeps all of its components in check and running as advertised.
In addition to these, the Linksys WRT-1900 offers a wide array of software-based features that makes it easy for consumers to manage their network and all connected devices over LAN or remotely.

I’m a longtime Linksys/Belkin technical BETA participant. I was one of the participants who BETA tested this router before it was released to the market. I must say it’s a very capable router. But the features remains lacking.
I’m still hoping that the promised OpenWRT comes into fruition. As of this moment, the WiFi drivers is what’s keeping the development of the OpenWRT firmware.
As technical BETA participant, Belkin rewarded me a WRT1900AC, libre.

I’m in dilemma between this and Asus RT-AC87. Ito superb ang performance sa 5GHz while yung Asus is great in 2.4GHz. I’m planning to replace my AC router sa bahay since most of my devices are still on N band and ang bagal ng performance ng current router ko sa N band.

I feel so excited to get this router! Kudos to the author for introducing it to us, readers, in “deep” detail, especially, on its features which convincingly justifies how it was priced. It seems like he really knows a lot about this router.
