Also stealing the spotlight at last week’s CES 2016 are gaming laptops. These new gaming machines showcase more than just powerful hardware but new cool features as well to make gaming more enjoyable.
Razer entered 2016 with a bang with the introduction of the Razer Blade Stealth – an Ultrabook. Although an impressive machine in itself, the Blade Stealth can become a full-fledged gaming PC with the help of Razer Core – an external GPU enclosure that can accommodate a single double-wide, full-length, PCI-Express x16 graphics card.
Lenovo also released their own gaming laptop with the IdeaPad Y900. It has a 17.3-inch IPS anti-glare display with Full HD resolution, up to overclockable 6th-generation Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 64GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M GPU, and 256GB SSD paired with a 1TB HDD. Price starts at $1,999 and will ship in July.
EVGA has entered the gaming laptop arena with its first offering – the EVGA S17. It features a 17.3-inch 4K display, unlocked Intel Core i7 6820HK CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX980M GPU with overclocking support, 16GB G.SKILL DDR4 2666MHz RAM, 256GB SSD, and 2TB HDD
As for Alienware, they have released the world’s first gaming notebook with an OLED display. As you have heard in TVs and smartphones equipped with the said display, it promises higher contrast, better color saturation, and deeper blacks. Alienware didn’t mention details about its specs but said that it will be “comparable to the existing Alienware 13 configurations in look and price.”
The Gigabyte P57W sports a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display, 6th Gen Intel Quad-core i7 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M GDDR5 3GB, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, tri-storage up to one 512GB M.2 SSD and two 2TB HDD, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1 Type-C, and premium 30-keys rollover anti-ghost backlit keyboard.
In the case of MSI, they took their GT72 Dominator Pro gaming laptop and installed an EyeX Tracking Sensor from Tobii. The result is the MSI GT72 Dominator Pro Tobii. This new breed of laptop has eye-tracking sensors built into the laptop’s hinge which can then allow gamers to aim, shoot, or perform other actions using their eyes. Other specs include a 6th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU, DDR4 RAM, and M.2 SSD storage.
The ASUS ROG GX700 which the company introduced last year also turned heads in CES 2016. This gaming laptop features a 17.3-inch 4K/UHD display, overclockable 6th-generation Intel K-SKU processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics, and an external water cooling system.

It’s been a while since Yugatech posts articles about laptops (gaming and non-). Hope they review all of these, or just first impressions/opinions. I badly need a gaming laptop now so these kind of articles will help me a lot. Thanks for updating us on CES 2016!
