With the announcement of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung also announced a series of accessories to go along with it. Among the ones we saw, these swappable lenses for the S7 is one of the more interesting we found.
If you’re familiar with the Olloclip for the iPhone, the concept is basically similar. However, instead of clipping the lens directly into the body of the handset, these lenses are attached via a special case.
The swappable lenses come in two types — one is a telephoto while the other is a wide angle lens. The matte rubbery case is actually very thin with a smooth, soft surface.
The rear of the case has a built-in thread that allows you to screw in the lenses. This holds the lens firmly against the handset and provides better alignment with the rear camera. This way, it’s much easier to swap the lense netween shoots.
These two lenses should provide more creative shots and framing for users who are expecting more from the camera of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Samsung did not indicate how much these lenses and the custom case will sell for.
What we’re not also sure is if Samsung will eventually release these add-on lenses to the Philippines when they ship the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge this March 19.
