Acer Academy has collaborated with De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) in the aim of supporting Deaf education in the Philippines through the application of technology in adaptive education. The collaboration is channeled through De La Salle’s School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), which offers education to Deaf Filipino students.

Included in this partnership, Acer Academy has donated five Acer TravelMate laptops to DLS-CSB. Through these laptops, SDEAS students will be able to access online learning platforms, finish their course work, participate in blended learning sessions, and develop important computing skills that will even help them in terms of employability in the future.
Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines, explained that this is in line with Acer’s strong belief in education and inclusion, and that currently, Acer Academy has over 400 members across the Philippines. Aside from donations of devices, they will also provide involvement and immersion.
Officials of Benilde stressed that such collaborations will help increase access to education, particularly for disadvantaged individuals as well as individuals with disability.
