Beats and Monster just called it quits!

Monster Cable and Beats Electronics have come a long way since their first headphone “Studio” was released back in 2008. Over the next succeeding years, the partnership has garnered success through artists/athletes’ inspired and endorsed earphones, cans and loudspeakers which mostly appealed to teens and the young at heart.

In addition to audio peripherals, the integration of their audio technology to devices such as smartphones (HTC), computers (HP) and more surprisingly on cars (as seen on CES 2012) solidified their place in the audio equipment industry. But in-spite of their success, Monster and Beats Electronics decided not to renew their 5 year contract and part ways later this year because of financial reasons.

What the future holds for these two companies is still uncertain. But what is certain is that Monster will still have their own product line as they have even before their partnership with Beats Electronics.

As for Beats, I don’t think that it will be the end of them. Because of its popularity and endorsements, I see them partnering with another well-known audio manufacturer or making a name for themselves by being a stand-alone company. Either way I think that these two companies, along with other giants, will slug it out to provide us with note-worthy headphones in the future.

  1. anu na kaya mangayayari sa HTC partnership??

  2. Tingin ko naman hindi maapektuhan yun nung break-up ng Beats at Monster kasi bukod sa urBeats appeal and software lang naman ang inacquire ng HTC sa beats eh. Pero specualtions lang to. Let’s see what will happen in the future.

  3. Errr. Isn’t this article a couple months too late?

  4. hope this split up would make their pricing scheme half the price for their future products :)

  5. Late na to. Dats how good yugatech is haha.magaling lng s mga cellphones

  6. HTC: Oops..

  7. How much do these headphone’s sell for in the Philippines? I’m in the U.S. and I see them selling from $100-$300 dollars. If they were having financial problem’s they should have cut the price to sell more items.

  8. news is a bit late but it’s okay coz most of us are STILL unaware of it…now afaik, SOUL by Ludacris may or will take the limelight if we’ll feel this breakup in the next few months…let’s wait then see..

  9. you won’t see me crying.

  10. Beats. noun. an over-rated and over-priced product that promises to deliver “quality” listening experience according to well – Dr. Dre’s taste. effing gimmick.
