Dyson is getting into the audio space with their latest Dyson Zone. These are a pair of Bluetooth headphones with noise-cancellation technology as well as a built-in air purification system.
The Dyson Zone miniaturizes the existing air filtration technology into a special form factor wherein the Zone pulls in air through each earpiece utilizing tiny compressors. The air is filtered through the “visor” for easy breathing.
Dyson claims the Zone is able to filter out up to 99 percent of particle pollution but the filters aren’t reusable and will require replacement after a year. Though specifics have not been mentioned, the amount of time will depend on how much air pollution the user will encounter.
Additionally, there are three different noise cancellation modes on the Zone. Isolation mode which has the active noise cancellation when the face visor is raised, lowering it will automatically switch to conversation mode that disables ANC, and finally, transparency mode that filters out important sounds like car horns, sirens, etc.
It can be charged via USB-C, and can be connected to the Dyson Link app to provide more information on the air quality surrounding the user.
