Globe is looking to re-invent the mobile hotspot and this time, they partnered with Rainx to introduce The loop in the Philippines.
The loop is basically a hybrid device combining a 5G WiFi hotspot, a portable speaker, and a portable Android device. It has a large touchscreen, selfie camera, built-in speakers, and an 8,000mAh battery for portability and long use.

The device supports 5G broadband internet, provides fast 5G speeds, and offers WiFi 6 technology for reliable coverage. It also comes with pre-installed apps and the capability to take selfies or videos with the front camera.
The device is powered by a Mediatek MT8791 chipset which is a premium 5G IoT platform with integrated NPU. It runs on an octa-core (2x Cortex A78 2.6GHz + 6x Cortex A55 2.0GHz) processor with ARM G68 MC4 GPU. It also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Globe is redefining home broadband with Globe AT HOME 5G loop, delivering fiber-like internet through 5G technology, perfectly built for shared WiFi experiences at home, and the freedom to bring home with you on the go, wherever life happens. As the first in the world to launch loop, Globe marks a global milestone in redefining shared digital experiences.
While the old mobile hotspot has lost it purpose, Globe is trying to re-invent the mobile hotspot by making “The loop” a lifestyle-focused device — like portable entertainment device with fast, unlimited 5G connectivity.

When we first tried this unit back in May, we had quite some time with it so here’s a quick run-down of why we think The loop can be an attractive device to many people:
- It’s a 5G portable hotspot that you can share connectivity with the entire family or group of friend when you are outside or on a trip.
- It doubles as an entertainment device with a sizable display to navigate and watch streams or clips from Tiktok, Reels or even YouTube videos. As a speaker, you can play tunes from Spotify or YouTube Music on-the-go.
- It has a large internal battery that can last a very long time if you are just going to use it for data connectivity.
- The device runs on Android so you can basically install any apps or games you’d like.
- The built-in front camera also makes it easy to take selfies with your friends and family or do a live-streaming session for your followers.

Globe AT HOME 5G loop will be available for pre-order starting today (September 1) and will be made available in select Globe stores nationwide.
Priced at Php 10,999, each device comes with 30 days of unlimited data, giving families a simple and powerful way to stay connected and enjoy shared digital experiences wherever they are. You can always top up the data by simply adding the account/SIM to your GlobeOne app and manage it from there.
