Nanoleaf Blocks smart lighting solution launched

Nanoleaf Blocks have been launched as the brand’s newest smart lighting solution. This might be what some readers need for their rooms, spaces, and gaming setups.

The blocks work as a system of LED panels and storage solutions. Users can leverage these to show off decor, all while keeping the space organized.

Nanoleaf Blocks include square LED panels in two sizes. Users can combine these with textured square light panels, pegboards, and shelves to make an eye-catching layout.

Plus, these are also thicker and sturdier compared to Nanoleaf’s earlier square panels. Even the pegboards give users a place to store objects such as keyboards and headphones. Creatively speaking, you can even outfit this with light and animations through holes behind them.

The panels also offer preset scenes, setting the mood with subtle ambient lighting. From here, the Blocks system comes with a handful of new options. For example, the Minimalist scene uses white lights at different temperatures.

There’s also the Level Up scene shown above that uses blue shades. Bottom line, you can browse between thousands of other scenes in the Nanoleaf app or make your own custom one.

Other features include Rhythm Music Visualizer and Magic Scenes. The former makes use of screen mirroring to extend the content from a user’s screen.

As for Magic Scenes, it lets users type in a word or phrase. It then leverages AI to generate lighting accordingly. Feel free to feed it prompts like ‘rainy day’, ‘Friday night’, or ‘slow mornings’.

Nanoleaf Blocks are compatible with major smart home ecosystems like Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. Users can control them via voice commands or the platforms’ respective smart home hub.

You can even tinker with Nanoleaf’s mobile or desktop apps. There’s also a physical controller that comes with the power cable. Pre-orders for the blocks are now available for USD 179.99 (~PHP 10,000), as seen on Nanoleaf’s official website 18.
