Video game publisher Rockstar Games has pushed back the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2 to October 26, 2018. The upcoming major release was originally slated to hit stores in Spring 2018.
Rockstar announced the delay in a blog post, stating, “We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”
They went on to say, “We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.” Since information on the release date has already been announced, it is up in the air as to what new information Rockstar has to share with us about RDR2. The post then ends with screenshots from the game.
As of now, Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with no PC version being announced just yet. The first installment of the game did not have a PC port, but it is worth noting that Rockstar’s last major game Grand Theft Auto V did end up getting its own PC version.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open world Western-themed action-adventure game played in the third-person. Its story centers around an outlaw named Arthur Morgan, who is a member of the Van der Linde gang.
At the time of writing, pre-order isn’t available in the Philippines. Stay tuned though, as we will be sure to report when either DataBlitz or i.Tech announces pre-orders.
