We had a lot of speakers and headphones coming our way thru the years but this is the first time we’ve encountered something more than the ordinary — and it’s called the Monocle by Native Union.
The Monocle is a headphone, a speaker and a speakerphone in one. It’s been a conversation piece for some time now since folks don’t really know what it is or how to use it.
It is a bit weird that it only has one pad (and a supra-aural type) so you’ll have to hold it against your ears whenever you use it.
Twist the /wheel to convert the earphone to a speaker and cranking up the volume. It has a metal metal grill and a 40mm driver giving out ample volume as well as a crisp and clear audio quality.
To spice things up a bit, you can also connect several Monocles (up to 10) into a daisy-chain and create some pretty loud noise.
It comes with a short, nylon-wrapped micro-USB cable (same design as the cable) and a similar-sized loop cable (for attaching into the bag loop when carrying it around).
Since the cable has a microphone attached to it, it can also be used as a speakerphone when attached to a smartphone.
The Monocle by Native Union retails for Php2,250 and are available at Astroplus, Astrovision, Beyond the Box, Digital Hub and Digital Walker,.
