In line with PLDT’s vision of a “Connected Home”, the MVP-owned telco launched an add-on service called TVolution which turns a subscriber’s regular idiot box into a powerful gateway to tons of contents on demand through the PLDT HOME Fibr connection.
TVolution refers to both the service and small peculiar device (as seen below) that makes it possible. The device, which is officially coined as the MediaQ M310, is manufactured by Huawei and pairs to your TV via HDMI.
Seeing and holding the Huawei M310 for the first time, we were impressed by how Huawei was able to fit everything in such a miniscule device the size of a matchbox. In addition to two regular HDMI ports (In and Out), there’s a pair of full-size USB 2.0 ports, MicroSD and MicroUSB (for power) slots, as well as SPDIF/3.5mm jack.
But that’s the tip of the iceberg. Inside the M310 packs a quad-core HiSilicon K3V2 processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which hosts the custom version of the Android Jelly bean. The device is also equipped with a chip for wireless connectivity which further expands its functionalities.
Huawei MediaQ M310 (PLDT TVolution) specs:
Hisilicon K3V2 Quad-Core processor
Vivante GC400 GPU
1GB RAM
Expandable 4GB internal storage up to 32GB
1x MicroSD card slot

meh says:
They call me everyday at 6am and wake up everyone in my house trying to sell this. They will only increase the bandwidth by 500kbps if you add this “service” Its still not enough to properly stream 1080p so who are they kidding?
The sales rep said ” no sir, its 500mbps! ” So better than google fiber? Do they not know the difference in kbps vs mbps? Its sad, sales reps also don’t speak english
jonski22 says:

Depends on the server…YouTube, Dailymotion or Metacafe for example can stream 720p without buffering sa 3mbps connection
Porn sites, different story…
abuzalzal says:
I Doubt it.
They are promoting a bandwidth-intensive service, Tapos biglang FUP? kills the purpose
Maraming mag-aalsa balutan at lilipat sa Globe na may stand-alone internet na mas mura

ErwinMeister says:
I got this one, they said its 4GB, but due to preloaded apps the remaining storage is at 1.76GB. Im still figuring out how to UnPNP and AirShare as there is no application to facilitate this.
ws says:
How can you define the meaning of “Ordinary TV” that PLDT always pointed out? If you watch the whole advertisement of the said product, they said that “connect tvolution to your HDMI-ready tv”, it means that your tv must have HDMI port. But how about if you have a CRT tv or tv without HDMI port, is it not an ordinary tv? What should they called that, phase out tv or ordinary tv of old generation?
PLDT should said in the first place the requirements of their product, because as an ordinary people who can hear that they can turn their ordinary tv into internet tv will amaze and grab this.
If you don’t have an HDMI-ready TV, then buy it first before subscribing to PLDT TVolution. Double the cost :P
Stewart says:
@regi: anong device yan? mabibili ba yan sa CD-R king? pahingi ng name ng Device para ma try ko
