Logitech to acquire Blue Microphones for $117M

Logitech is looking to strengthen their lineup of accessories as last July 30, they have agreed to acquire Blue Microphones, the company behind industry standard Yeti and Snowball microphones.

The deal is expected to close by the end of August, and involved roughly $117 million in cash.

“Logitech’s acquisition of Blue Microphones will accelerate our entry into a growing market, and offers another way for us to help bring people’s passions (from music to blogging) to life. Joining with Blue is an adjacent opportunity for us – a new way to grow – with additional synergies related to our existing gaming, PC webcam and audio categories. It’s exciting,” Bracken Darrell, Logitech CEO said in their blog post.

Logitech is a reputable brand when it comes to computer accessories, in home, office, and gaming segments. With streamers and YouTubers at an all-time, this group is likely who Logitech aim to cater after the acquisition of Blue.

As mentioned earlier, Blue is well-known for its studio-quality condenser microphones such as the Yeti and Snowball. Blue mentioned in their own blog post that they have new products in development.
