We’ve reported last month that Samsung will also unveil a second-generation Gear smartwatch to go with the upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S5. It looks like we have an early look at not one, but two non-Galaxy-branded Gear smartwatches – the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo.
Based on the images tweeted by @evleaks, Samsung overhauls the design of the new Gear which now sport a better and cleaner look compared to its predecessor. The best part is that the new smartwatches come in two variants – the metal-clad Gear 2 and the less premium-looking Gear Neo.
Both smartwatches will no longer have the visible front screws found on the original gear and now includes what looks like a physical home button. The camera was redesigned as well and is now embedded in the chassis and not in the strap.
Being so-called “leaks” it’s wise to take these with a grain of salt. Samsung is holding its Unpacked event tomorrow in Barcelona where the Galaxy S5 and the new Gear smartwatches are expected to be unveiled so stay tuned.
