Folks at Quantum Mobile Gears sent us an earbud that was made in collaboration of Venture Electronics and HEEP (Headphones and Earphones Enthusiast Philippines) dubbed as the Monk Plus Philippine Edition.
You can pretty much surmise that its packaging is pretty eye-catching. With its extravagant statement, “The biggest bang you’ll ever hear for your buck”, you sure will think of a response like, “Well, we’ll hear about that”.
The earphones come in blue (left) and red (right) colors with a 1.2m cable to it and 3.5mm jack. Unfortunately, our unit didn’t come with a microphone. Its shell is made up of polycarbonate/hard plastic which kinda feels a little bit cheap and fragile.
To further feel the Pinoy Pride, the earbuds come with eight earbud cushions in yellow and white so you have the freedom to choose whatever color you like. It’s a Democratic country, anyway.
During our first try on the earphones, we were actually impressed by how clear and crisp the quality is, albeit not the best we tried so far but still considerably good. Its bass is prominent but there are times when the mids is a little bit harsh so putting on an earbud cushion pretty much help with the overall listening experience + comfort.
