Apple has finally launched its 3rd-generation iOS tablet, dousing all speculations that have been going around the internet for months. Today, Apple announces the new 3rd-gen iPad.
It’s not called iPad HD, iPad 3, iPad 2 HD, iPad 2S but just “the new iPad“.

The LTE models with be for North America only (sorry, no Smart LTE support). For the Philippines, we will have the 3G-world (HSPA+) model.
The 5MP camera on the iPad is now the same as what Apple used in the iPhone 4S.

Actually I’m not an fan or apple products nor android products. I was also thinking of buying an iPad or an ASUS Transformer Prime but as far as my research goes for the Transformer Prime. It’s more likely that I’d buy this new iPad over the Transformer Prime of course reviews hasn’t surfaced yet but if we are to based it from Apple’s track record of hardware quality. Even the iPad 2 is a good buy as opposed to the Transformer Prime as the Prime is riddled with hardware issues (Asus removing GPS cause it doesn’t work that’s crap as well as poor wifi connections) You can read the reviews for the Prime in Amazon or in xda developers.
yaj says:
will u buy this “new ipad” or the transformer prime?
R2 says:
@Iyan
+1 very good point about storage, with all that HD thing, they should beefed up the storage capacity. :)
r41n says:
this is better for gaming. it has the same quad core GPU as PS Vita. 4x faster than Tegra 3.

Not much features with this new ipad HD thing.

Not much features with the new ipad except for the HD thing.

parang mas ok pa rin sa kin ang samsung galaxy simply because of the stylus! At ayoko din ng malaki because i’m into viewing at any place, parang ewan kasi pag malaki hawak mo ahaha no offense. G note na lang ako.
Iyan Sommerset says:
Looks the same. That means it loses its most important function – to let other people know that you dropped cash on the latest model. :P That alone will make a lot of people think twice before upgrading.
Looking at the upgraded specs and considering everything that goes with that…doesn’t that make 16, 32 and even 64gb of storage a bit too small now? They should be thinking about sticking 128gb minimum into these things. A typical 1080p movie is what…3-6gb? That eats up even 64gb disks pretty fast.
And then the games…with these babies sporting higher resolutions than most people’s displays, the games for these will probably go into the upwards of +1gb installs now or something along those lines. They need more space.
garz says:
to garz di nagbabasa: LOL Lagi naman nilang ginagamit yun word na yun sa bawat product na nire-release nila. And I wasn’t even referring to the title on their home page but technically, it is still read as revolutionary + resolution.
Ay, napanood mo na ba yung keynote? Sinabi rin yun ni Tim Cook.
R2 says:
ipad naming is now going to way of the ipods, 3rd, 4th, 5th generation… i think only the iphones will use the numbering.
Berkano says:
Too bad for people who want to show off their “New iPad” since it looks the same as the other one. Who will know the difference?
And bad news for Globe, because their HSPA+ will be useless for this one. Good news for Smart. But then how many people actually buy the ones with the antenna right?

does the new iPad have the cellphone features such as calls and sms ?

mas maganda pa din mga cherry mobile products kaysa dito.

iPad 2:
9.5 x 7.31 x 0.34 in
new iPad:
9.5 x 7.31 x 0.37 in
Same specs but will the extra .03mm thickness render all current cases, etc. obsolete?
And I agree with Dan the Beast, with the exception of Retina, you won’t be able to use many of the features.
GARZ di nagbabasa says:
RESOLUTIONARY TOL. Hindi revolutionary. Magbasa maigi
garz says:
LOL I knew they would use the words “revolutionary” and “breakthrough.”
duke_06 says:
No, thanks. I’d rather buy the Asus Transformer Prime because of its improved design and I think better specs than this iNew…
Cris Marcos says:
Bababa ulit kaya price ng ipad 2 pag release nito sa atin?
AppleB4nowSamsung says:
Pathetic, its just an upgrade and it’s even heavier? Jobs would be furious about this.
Sanctuarian06 says:
So this is the iNew?
Dan the Beast says:
If you’re in the Philippines, you won’t get to use most of the new features. So better stick to the older model.

What a huge disappointment indeed…
I hope ipad 2 prices will go down ASAP…
