Been looking for a protective case for the 11.6″ Macbook Air for months and finally found one yesterday — a Speck SeeThru Satin. Don’t know why it took them this long to make one.
The case is very thin and hugs the entire outer shell of the Macbook Air 11″ (similar to the hard plastic covers for the iPhone).
The edges snaps in on the side to give it a secure hold – snugs in perfectly well. The dark color of the plastic is muted by the semi-transparent (translucent) shade allowing the Apple logo to still be visible when it’s lit up.
The thin case did not add a lot of thickness to the slim form factor of the Macbook Air so you will still appreciate the curves of the unit.
Bought the Speck SeeThru Satin for Php2,250 at Mobile 1 (also sold in Digital Hub I am told). There’s no other cae for the MacBook Air 11.1″ so can’t really compare it but so far this one works just fine.

I seldom comment, but i did a few searching and wound up here Speck SeeThru Satin for Macbook Air 11″ – YugaTech | Philippines, Tech News & Reviews. And I do have 2 questions for you if it’s allright. Is it just me or does it give the impression like a few of these responses appear as if they are coming from brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are writing on additional places, I would like to keep up with everything new you have to post. Could you list of every one of your communal sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

@John Ray Cabrera – you are right but the protection it provides exceeds the disavantages.

i used to contemplate of getting a Speck case for my MBP, however i noticed two things:
1) the Speck adds weight
2) the Speck Case Satin is a lint, dirt, and dust magnet
@Abe: did you notice the same with your Speck case too?

@Operation Super – No, it’s clearly stated on the post that
“the semi-transparent (translucent) shade allows the Apple logo to still be visible when it’s lit up.”
Operation Super says:
Wait? It covers the glowing Apple logo? That’s the reason why most of the people I know bought it one the first place.

I guess if you have something so thin; it would be wise to preserve the air’s beauty for the years to come.
that and your 45k+ cash you spent on it.
sheepman says:
2,250 pesos for a case?!
Abe Olandres says:
@sheepman – cases for iPhone 4 usually ranges from Php1,200 – Php1,400 so I thought it was reasonable for Php2,250 for a much larger device.
Cisco says:
Is there also see-thru satin for Macbook pro 13″?
