Travel-friendly, highly functional, and fun to use. The CampStove 2+ Complete Cook Kit is a multipurpose cooking gear that’s perfect for campers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Basically, it’s a portable wood cooking system that allows you to grill, boil, and cook. It’s also an on-the-go powerbank, coffee press, electric fan, and even an LED light. We took it for a quick spin so keep on reading for our hands-on.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let us walk you through what’s in the box first. The package consists of four main components; the CampStove 2+, KettlePot (16oz), Portable Grill, and Coffee Press. If you don’t really need all of that, the CampStove 2+ is available separately. Other things included are its micro-USB cable, manuals, FlexLight 100, fire starter, and a few stuff sacks to keep everything organized.
The main thermal electric CampStove 2+ is composed of two parts: the yellow 3,200mAh battery/power pack and an aluminum burn chamber. To be able to start a fire, make sure that you have already collected some twigs, burn sticks, wood scraps, or pellets—whichever is accessible. Do note that you cannot use charcoals.
The main power module has a fan, a single button in the middle, and 3 LED indicators to monitor the fire strength, power output, and fan speed. It can also be used as a powerbank via a micro-USB cable, so you can charge or use the FlexLight 100 while cooking.
To start a fire, you can use a small chunk of firestarter included in the package, then turn on the power module that will allow you to control the fire with low to high fan settings.
Once you get a steady stove ready, you can use the wood-burning grill top or the versatile stainless-steel KettlePot that doubles as a coffee press and a carrying case to protect your CampStove 2+.
Its grill top can fit up to four burgers, while the KettlePot can boil up to 1L of water. We tried boiling a liter of water with the KettlePot and it took us about 10 minutes to be ready. Not bad!
Overall, the BioLite CampStove 2+ Complete Cook Kit is easy and astonishing to use. It can be really handy off the grid and it’s easy to bring thanks to its well-thought-of stackable design. As for price, locally it’s available via atlascommune.com for PHP 13,200. And if you’re interested in buying the BioLite CampStove 2+ standalone, it’s available for PHP 8,250.
