True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds are pretty much the in-thing these days. People find them much less of a hassle as they don’t have to deal with wires that get tangled up here and there. TWS earbuds can be expensive, however, there are also earbuds that won’t dig a hole in your pockets. Take a look at the Digital Walker x Joyroom JR-T04S TWS earbuds.
The Digital Walker x Joyroom JR-TO4S TWS is packaged in a canister that has the brands’ logos on the lid. Printed on the body of the canister are the specs of the earbuds.
Upon opening the canister, one will first see a paper with a quote printed on it. We’re not sure if the quote varies from each canister, but ours had “You only live once” embossed in silver. It’s a pretty nice touch and a good reminder for us all.
Underneath the paper, one will see the Joyroom JR-TO4S TWS in its charging case. Removing the plastic case that’s holding the earbuds, one will find the instructions and accessories under it.
As this is a special edition, the charging case already comes with a protective silicone cover. It also comes with a small carabiner clip so that users can attach it on their hip or bag to not lose the charging case.
Removing the silicone case, we have the Joyroom JR-T04S TWS charging case in full. Different from the JR-TO4S that’s in white, the black edition has a matte casing instead of a glossy finish. While different in color, it’s still reminiscent of Apple’s AirPods’ case.
The Joyroom earbuds have a flat surface, with buttons on the left and right earbuds, as well as microphones and vents. At the bottom are connectors for charging. As they’re made of plastic, the buds feel light yet are secure in the ears. Your ears might need some time to adjust to the hard plastic, but overall, it’s snug and comfortable.
Setting up the buds are quite easy; one just needs to take them out of the case, and they’ll switch on automatically and pair up with one another right away. You can then pair them with your smartphone or any device and use them for media consumption.
Instead of touch controls, the Joyroom TWS has multi-function buttons on each bud. To play or pause, press the multi-function button on either side. To select the previous song, just press and hold the left button for two seconds. Do the same thing on the right button to select the next song. For calls, press any of the buttons to answer or call. Press and hold either button for two seconds to activate Siri or Google Assistant.
As for battery life, the Joyroom TWS can provide three hours of playback. Charging using the case takes about two hours using its 500mAh battery. The case can be charged using the micro-USB port at a bottom and has an LED indicator for the battery level.
