It doesn’t really have to be a super expensive one, but something simple and reliable that you can drive to work and back home. Plus, with today’s banks offering different loaning plans, you can find yourself a good deal without really breaking the bank.

For this article, we round up vehicles you can buy with a price not going over Php500,000.

    no love for Hyundai EON?

  2. Fox Hunter says:

no automatic cars? manual is murder in the traffic of metro manila.

  3. Robert Gonzales says:

Add two reliable cars in your list:
    BAIC MZ40 @468,000. and
    FOTON GRATOUR @490,000.

  4. mark says:

Hi! First of all, I’ve been a fan of most of the content in this site but this list of cars under P500K is somewhat lacking. The car pictured as the Alto is indeed the previous-generation Celerio, while the Kia Picanto pictured is the three-door, which is not available in our market. However, I’d give a pass on the the inclusion of the Hyundai i10, which had been phased out in our country (according to a Hyundai salesman at this year’s Manila International Auto Show) for reasons even our local car news sites won’t cover.

    • mark says:

That was fast! More power to you, guys!

    • Kevin Bruce Francisco says:

      Hi!

Thanks for being a fan of the site! And thanks for spotting that one out. Sorry if the 3-door Picanto confused you, but we’ve mentioned at the beginning of the article that not all the photos will be the exact models of the cars and serve only as visual guides. Also, we’ve updated and took out i10 from the list.

      Thanks for the feedback.

  5. NotAlto says:

    I think that’s a celerio

  6. Berkano says:

This guy talks about traffic these days and then recommends cars. What a daft prick!

    • Kevin Bruce Francisco says:

Yes, ’cause I was talking about being comfortable in traffic and not trying to solve the traffic problems. Maybe that’s for a different article.

  7. klonoa says:

    how about toyota wigo?

    • Kevin Bruce Francisco says:

      Included. Thanks!

  8. wtf says:

when making the list, can you be more extensive? why are suzuki celerio and alto not included in the list? how about kia picanto?

    • Kevin Bruce Francisco says:

The price we saw for Celerio is above Php500K. Alto and Picanto included. Thanks!
