Turns out today is the last day of the PC Show 2010 which is being held at the Suntec City Mall which is just in front of our hotel here in Singapore.
We head over there to take a sneak peak but was initially disappointed with the sparse number of gadget booths on the second and third floor. Left @aaronatayde (the geeky host of Quick-E on Studio 23) to head back to the hotel when I noticed a swarm of people taking a flight of stairs. So I followed the crowd and saw this on the 4th floor.
Now that’s gadget heaven — okay most of the gadgets there were PC related (a given since this is PC Show) but the bargains there are really worth a second look.
Here are several items I was able to ask the sales people there (as they keep on lowering the price as the day ends):
Asus Eee PC 1001PX & 1005P – Php16,500
Acer Aspire One D260 – Php15,200
Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 N470 – Php18,200
Acer Ferrari One 200 – Php36,000
Toshiba NB300 – Php16,500
HP Mini 210 – Php19,800
Even that orange Vaio P is Php14,000 cheaper than the retail price in the Philippines.
That’s on top of the other freebies the sellers throw in on top of the usual items — 16GB flash drive, USB mouse, carrying case, external DVD+RW, and even a 500GB portable HDD on an Acer Timeline X 3820T.
There were other stuff on sale, like printers, cameras, handycams, desktop PC, monitors, and even smartphones and LED TVs. Will be featuring some of the rare items I saw there earlier.

As I am always saying, the monopoly style distribution system and the price fixing here artificially raises our prices! Don’t feed it! Buy abroad whenever you can.
I know its an extreme example, but look at the prices listed here. We never have sales like that here, never! At best we get sales of old junk that no one wants and the price is still way more than it is elsewhere.
Even if you are afraid of the corrupt and stupid customs, during the low season you can fly to Singapore for very little money, so its will still come out cheaper to take a trip and buy things than to buy it locally. If we starve the system it will break and we will get a fairer system and not be so far behind our neighbors.
