The HTC Sensation is now officially in the Philippines with Smart offering the handset for free at Plan 3000 or you can get it from official retailers at a suggested retail price of Php31,990 while the Wildfire S goes for Php15,500.
That’s Php1k lower than our previous report of a Php33k SRP three days ago (probably a reaction to people’s feedback about the price; even the dealers did not know their own price as well until tonight).

The launch party at the Republiq is more like a fashion show (video coming up!) with a number of showbiz personalities ogling over their new HTC handsets (obviously given for free). It was less of a media launch so we didn’t get to have a Q&A (there is one slated for tomorrow early morning so I don’t think I can cover it).
This was also our first time to get a hold of a unit and so far we found the HTC Sense 3.0 UI much more smoother, the display way better than the Desire HD, and very responsive over-all. More on this once we get the review unit. The form factor (including the thickness) is still similar to the Desire HD and closer to the HD7 in terms of body design.

ken says:
i love htc. i bought htc desire hd last march and i am looking to upgrade to this sensation monster… but only if the price here in the philippines drop down to the 25k range. i have seen the srp of sensation in amazon @ 500 USD in some cases. i hope it happens here as well
Xallisto says:
This. I don’t think the premium feel warrants it to be sold at 30ish. At least the GSII has the specs to back it up. Still, I prefer buying the sensation.
jeff says:
where can i buy this??
tmcr says:
wow sexy models!
Andy says:
This was my “could have been” next phone. But after realizing that there were no new Android in the coming months (until Ice Cream Sandwich) wherein dual-core phones are for most gamers-on-the-go, the current single-core phones are still enough for the time being (currently using Desire with Gingerbread AOSP). And it would be more economical to wait for the release of the next Android OS (ICS).
raffy says:
can i ask you something guys? could this phone beats up samsung GS2?
karl says:
SGS2 is a bit better than SENSATION
Sgs2 > Htc sensation says:
A big fat NO! Hardware wise, sgs2 bitch slaps this shit in everything maybe except built quality and if you like sense3, which i find crappy.
asdfgh says:
HTC is proven great but SGS2 ako. Mas manipis, mas maganda ang screen (AMOLED kesa LCD)
technobaboy says:
at least its cheaper than the initially reported 33k price
noy says:
masaya pa din ako sa 3310 ko.lols

i was there!!! and i think yuga was the one asking the names of the models holding the HTC Sensation! hehe just kiddin, but it really was a great launch party(my first one too), too bad Sensation is a little bit overprice for my taste..
Jologs says:
If ever I go back to Android I’d pass on HTC because of the following:
– probably not upgradable (officially) to the next os update. I still can remember the bull they fed people about the desire not having enough memory. pwe!
– deathgrip issue that affects wifi, and the cases / bumpers do not solve the problem. No thanks!
If I’d go back to Android, probably go for SE, since baliktad sila. They say they won’t update then biglang maguupdate. Hehehe. And form factor for SE is always a winner. Next choice would prolly be a Nexus phone (any manufacturer).
mike says:
crazy suckers are those who buy phones like this. my 6000 peso android phone can do 95 percent of what this thing can do. and mine is dual sim. Suckers!

Num Lock says:
32t for a phone? No way. I can buy 1 good laptop and 1 good phone for that price.
xxxxx says:
you could. but they’d probably suck hehe
caps lock says:
they probably would suck if the buyer is as stupid as you. Hell, for P 32k, i could get myself a good laptop, a good phone and one night stand.
unlock says:
Well it depends what your definition of “good” is. Care to give your supposed good laptop and good phone that has a total price of under 32k?
mike says:
phones like this are like jewelries that depreciates. they are bought only because they are expensive. the return diminishes up to 20k pesos. after 20k and you are already buying hype.
bUgOy says:
Like Jewelries? What a dumb analogy… Jewelries appreciate all the time foo
Jef says:
So the price of the Sensation is actually more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S2? I got a quote from a supplier for 28,000 PHP for the Samsung Galaxy S2. Maybe this is the MSRP price, I hope it will go lower.
Vignet says:
OS is too expensive!
lolzexpensiveosdaw says:
sylv3rblade says:
The specs on the Sensation is better than the Optimus 7… Dual Core, Gorilla Glass, 8MP camera
boo says:
probably from the same guy who sold EDSA and the Malacanang Palace
21 says:
The rumors are true, DEATH grip, not buying
