So it looks like the HTC Sensation isn’t the only one that will land in Philippine shores this June. The HTC Wildfire S will be tagging along too. The closest date we can squeeze out of our source is 1st week of June.
HTC Wildfire S
600MHz processor
3.2″ display @ 320×480 pixels
Gorilla Glass display
512MB ROM
512MB RAM
microSD up to 32GB
HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 384Kbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with WiFi hotspot
Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP
GPS with aGPS support
5MP autofocus camera with LED Flash
Android 2.3
Li-Ion battery 1230mAh
The Wildfire S inherits almost the same design and form factor as the original HTC Wildfire, minus the optical trackpad. It also gets a better pixel density so graphics should be better and more RAM too.
As for the retail price, we’re still left guessing but it should be somewhere near the SRP of the first one (I reckon Php15,500 should be within the vicinity of final pricing).

I really love htc phone, but – I find the battery not good quality and a weakness for all htc phones. and well in fact, HTC phones are not supported by any mobile wireless internet provider in the Philippines. means you need to be in a hotspot to use htc’s mobile internet

Galaxy Ace’s is not really good…the RAM is only 278 MB,video recording very poor, and also cheap plastic.Wildfire S has Sense UI bigger ram, bigger rom and many developers out there compared to samsung ace..
justin says:
what’s the video resolution? is this capable of HD recording? 720p?
and one more thing, can this phone perform things even though that it has 600mhz but has 512ram and rom?
Jerry says:
Almost within the price range of Samsung Galaxy SL.

Galaxy Ace and Wildfire S? I’ll go for Wildfire. Galaxy Ace is slow even with GPU (not enough RAM)
Try playing fruit ninja. you’ll be able to slice all fruits in one swype – slow motion.
The common problem i noticed in low-mid end phone of Samsung is lack of RAM (Spica, Galaxy, etc.)
bayantell says:
Not really. I would prefer this over Sammy’s Ace. For one it’s Sense UI which is miles ahead of TouchWiz.
Ace does not support Flash web browsing (I need it for work)–and it says a lot about it’s CPU capability. Don’t be fooled by the 800MHz ARM 11 processor. It’s ARM 11 which is inferior and has poor graphic vector rendering–that’s why it can’t run Flash. Try both models and you’ll find out that Wildfire S is more butter smooth and responsive despite having only a 600 MHz processor. Guys learn to read beyond the obvious specs. Kapag a smartphone can’t run Flash mahinang klase yan (except for iPhone, SJ just refuses it)

ad 3k more and you have an optimus black, i remember how horrible the screen of the first widlfire
al says:
the xperia minis are coming too, its within the smae price point if not lower with bravia engine,1 gig processor and locked bootloader.
Jologs says:
I agree. The Wildfire was my first Android phone and the screen basically killed the whole user experience. Too many incompatible apps and it’s just plain horrible.
I think I’ll pass. I have not recovered from my initial Wildfire experience yet. Hehehe.
rage says:
pick the ace or galaxy sl if this will fall under the 15k mark
galaxy sl on greehills is just 16.5k
Noir says:
^
“Ace as”
Noir says:
Not bad but I would probably still pick the Samsung Aceas well since it is faster and cheaper
MiGz15 says:
i think few people would go for this in terms of price and specs. :D Samsung galaxy ace is much reasonable.
