People have been asking for a netbook or an ultraportable that can play hard core or 3D games. If a small form factor and graphics power is what you want, check out the 11.6″ Alienware M11x from Dell.
Okay, it’s not really a netbook but it’s one of the most gaming-capable notebooks we’ve seen under the 12″ category.
Inside is a Core 2 Duo processors and a 1GB nVidia 335M graphics card. Plus, it comes with an HDMI, DisplayPort, Firewire, an a 3G SIM slot. The 8-cell Lithium-Polymer battery lasts about 6 hours of casual use but can easily be drained in just 2 hours on full gaming mode.
The price? Just shy of $1,000.
If you want to own this rig for free, Alienware’s microsite is giving one unit every week.

I am planning to buy this laptop. I am college student here in the Philippines.
WHAT?>???!
Tapos me Orochi mouse pa ako for 1220usd.
Need help naman, about sa SHIPPING from US to Philippines. Me dadag ba sa presyo? Bagohan lang ako dito, anu yung CUSTOMS? Bakit nagmamahal? Bakit me tax?
Posible bang makabili ako galing ng US? Kasi mura eh. Pede ba yun?
Thanks mga kuya and ate, email nu lang ako sa magnumneo****@****.*** for your answers. I am very interested sana maguide nyu ako dito. Kailangan ko nito sobra sa programming and animation at siyempre sa gaming kahit nasa skul. sawang sawa na ako sa mabagal na pc.
Thanks!

My dream netbook period
Pusang Kulog says:
@sylv3rblade – Yeah, you’re right about the price. That’s why I’m hoping against hope that it would turn out to be readily available here in the Philippines because Dell has a presence here already. Buying tech products that are readily available here rather than importing them greatly minimizes the Customs related hassles…
sylv3rblade says:
@Pusang Kulog
ok naman ung unit kaso you got to remember it’s $999 + tax :D
elizabeth says:
Alienware is the HOTTEST brand of gaming computers/laptops.
I chatted with Customer Service representatives on their site. All too willing to accept orders, they referred me to an Australian-based distributor. This should make shipments to the Philippines arrive quicker. But there are also several Dell outlets in the country, as well as other sellers like Villman. =) =) =)
Sir Yuga, mas malaki po ba yung babayaran kung dito ka bibili kaysa kung mag.order ka directly from them?
I don’t really know how businesses operate. But I noticed that prices of Apple products in iStores here in the Philippines are usually a little higher than those seen in Apple’s official website.
Thank you.
Pusang Kulog says:
The thing with this unit is that you can use it as a gaming device when your at home. You can always use it’s HDMI or extra VGA connector (if it has one) to connect to a monster monitor and do your thing. You can even do this the USB way with a USB to HDMI adapter to make the connection less than tiresome.
When mobile, it will behave perfectly like your average netbook with the 6 hours battery life.
As for me, this thing is the perfect LAN Party companion!
Pasensiya na po. Isang hamak at trying hard gamer lamang ang inyong lingkod kaya in love na in love ako sa unit na ito. He he he…
Judd says:
MoNcHeE says:
I’d also sell my laptop + cellphone for this. This netbook is CRAZY
Vanilla21 says:
and with the sub 1k$ price point at max specs that’s even crazier the fact that it’s alienware :)
Vanilla21 says:
but a notebook this size with a 1Gb Nvidia 335M, that’s this is freakin’ crazy, i’ll sell my y450 for this thing hehe
sylv3rblade says:
I doubt we’ll be able to enjoy gaming on this unit. I just can’t see myself playing Dragon Age:Origins on 1920 x 1080 with that small screen.. makes the text nigh impossible to read :D
Sure we can always hook it up to a monitor but it’s no longer portable :D
VPC-CW13FX/R says:
I’m most likely either getting this, or the Asus UL30Vt when they release the silver version with the bigger battery. The Asus is less about gaming, but still has a G210 discrete GPU.
Jhay says:
I don’t know, games are meant to be enjoyed on wide screens and 2 hours of battery life in gaming mode? You’d need a lot spare batteries when on the go. :P
Jam. says:
What’s the resolution of the screen?.
karissa says:
“Really hope these gaming laptops has a good cooling system.” quote on that.
gaming rigs really heat up without proper coolers.
and in a form of notebooks? eeerr I don’t think a cooler pad would be enough for this one hehehe
IC DeaDPiPoL says:
AFAIK Nvidia ION = GeForce 9400M
Really hope these gaming laptops has a good cooling system.
Pusang Kulog says:
In fact, i think this unit’s target market are those people who would love to get an Ion powered netbook…
Pusang Kulog says:
It’s gaming power compensates for its price. And as Abe puts it, this is not really a netbook but one of the most gaming-capable notebooks we’ve seen under the 12″ category.
To me its on the toplist of that category. What is Ion compared to this?
daddy joey says:
it’s not a netbook. :)
1k USD is around 48k, pagdating dito nyan almost 60k na siguro yan.
Pedro says:
sir… if it is almost $1000.oo times the current exchange rate of dollar to peso, then thats quite expensive for a “netbook”. :p
Calvin says:
hindi pa nila ginawang core i5 at least. :P
LunaTech says:
I hope villman will sell this netbook here in the philippines, dami sigurong oorder… Ipon mode on na!
-Sent via YugaTech Mobile App
kaycee says:
villman is selling alienware laptops on an order basis only. as of the moment, they have the big brothers of m11x, m15x and m17x.
Abe Olandres says:
Alienware is now owned by Dell so check with Dell Philippines. They have a concept store in the malls.
superdan says:
this would be the grandaddy of all netbooks. but for the price, i would say that you could get a high end laptop. sir abe, do we have alienware distributors here in the philippines? im looking to buy a laptop this month e. any suggestions?
cholo says:
seems that there are alot of complaints with alienware. heard its better to go with a dell laptop and set it up for gaming instead.

Karlo says:
Is Alienware available in the Philippines?
val says:
I think this is the most affordable Alienware laptop yet. With the price just below $1000 or around $799 according to CNET, this would be one of the gamers’ must-have gadgets for 2010.
Pusang Kulog says:
Sad to say that the Alienware contest for this unit is only good for thjose residing in mainland United States…
Pusang Kulog says:
I would sell my MSI EX460 for this one… This thing is the bully of netbooks! He he he…
