FinePix Real 3D W3 Camera

Just had a chance to play with this 3D camera from Fujifilm — the second generation FinePix Real 3D W3. I’m not a huge fan of 3D but this one is just blew me away.

Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens
F3.7 (wide) – F4.2 (telephoto)
f = 6.3 – 18.9mm, equivalent to 35 – 105 mm

The 3.5-inch LCD monitor with Lenticular type allows you to see the 3D images with the naked eye. You can, however, connect the camera to a 3D TV to view it properly or use 3D glasses instead.

The camera can also record 3D videos at 720p. It’s not yet locally available but sells for only $369 in Amazon. Here’s the closest I can show it without using any 3D glasses.

I kinda feel na sa video mo lang magagamit ang 3D capability nito. for still images, it kinda sound stupid.. hehe.. pang project o special stuffs lang siguro..

nice but still doesnt have practical sense for a commoners like me. hehe

@John actually the battery on this camera is the Fuji NP50 which is also used by the Pentax DLI-68, Kodak KLIC7004 & Zi camera. There are lots of cheap third-party options for replacement batteries available on Amazon, ranging from as cheap as $2 to (a more realistically trustworthy) $9. Original Fuji NP50s are going for about $14.

Pero how will you print it? Will it be 3D in the printed pictures? Or is it for LCD viewing only?

Videos are of TV’s and still photos are for printed ones…

Very nice cam but I hate these manufacturers putting proprietary batteries on their gadgets. (Read: Replacements and Maintenance will be expensive.) It’s a total turn-off.

wow! I watched the youtube video here and was surprised that the image does indeed look 3D! :D Pero parang embossed image ang result nya.
And it can also take 3D videos? now thats even more interesting :D

I read this at PCWorld. They say that kailangan mo talaga basahin yung manual to get the PERFECT 3D shots. Di sya katulad ng other Point and Shoots. They said something about focal points.. (I don’t know about Photography stuff. Techie lang talaga ako.)
