I tried out the Sony XR100 back in April and now we got an upgraded model in the series, the Sony HDR XR-200. This little handycam can record 120GB of Full HD 1080i videos in one go.
The XR-200 sports a hybrid storage option — via Memory Stick or the built-in 120GB hard disk drive. The 0.2-inch “Exmor” CMOS Sensor can also take a maximum of 4MP still images. The lens is a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T with a filter diameter of 37mm.
If the older 80GB XR-100 can record up to 33 hours of video at 5Mbps, the 120GB XR-200 adds 50% more capacity (up to 50 hours).
Supported video codec is MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 and has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080i. The 15x optical zoom and 180x digital zoom is demonstrated in this video clip I took using the camera:
See more sample footages here. Note though that YouTube HD doesn’t fully support 1080p playback (I read somewhere it’s still in beta and experimental).
Sony HDR-XR200 Handycam has a suggested retail price of Php64,999.

Our renters moved out a few months ago and left us having a mess to clean up. Not just had been there holes inside the wall, they also destroyed doors, window frames and carpets. They were very smart and covered up the harm with pictures, posters and curtains so we didn’t realize the extent with the harm until they had been gone. Now we’re fixing up the house so we can rent it again. Thankfully, this work is a lot easier as we have a laptop with wireless capabilities. We’re capable to Watch High Quality Porn! also as other shows so we are entertained when toiling away. It’s wonderful that the Web offers issues of this nature.

Alot of hot talk but I just found pout that this HDRXR200 has a small problem.
Its software is not compatible with the old imac system. If your imac is running Leopard 10.5.6 you will also need the codec and imovie09 to get full HD compatible download to burn or watch on your imac. Some imacs will not run Leopard 10.5.6 so make sure you’ve done your homework before buying this little beauty. Sony has not got a hotfix for this problem at the posting of this message.

Abe Olandres says:
@rodney – yup, it’s compatible as long as you have the codecs installed.
@berkano – didn’t notice that earlier. thanks for pointing it out!
berkano says:
Yuga though the 1080p version of the Youtube videos maybe in beta, one can actually hover over the “HD” option and select 1080p.
Downloaded the 720p Youtube version and it looked slick enough :)

I am planning to get a HD camera for ministry purposes and hope to broadcast either on cable TV or via the internet.
I think this HD camera can be a good choice.
Is the file type compatible for iMovie or Apple Final Cut without conversion?
