Sony Philippines today introduced a whole line of Edge LED TVs and a new 3D TV which will be available to the public this summer (2nd quarter of 2010).
The list is pretty long, starting with the Sony Bravia NX700/800 ranging from 40″ to 60″, the EX600, NX500 and EX400.
Members of the media also had a competition the whole afternoon using Sony’s latest gadgets — from full HD point-and-shoot, water-proof and shock proof cameras, videocams with image stabilizers and the Sony Bloggie which does 360-degree video recording (Php14,999USD 256INR 21,668EUR 243CNY 1,861) and works much like the Flip Mino.
We don’t have specific launched date yet and price list for the LED TVs but I’ll post and update once they’re out.
Update: Okay, so we won the media challenge and each one got a Bloggie. Disclosure: Sony brought us all to Shangri-la, Boracay for this event and paid for everything.

@yuga: Will Sony Philippines be also selling the Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5 or just the Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5? I ordered the Bloggie MHS-CM5 through Amazon since I thought the Sony Bloggie line won’t be sold here in the Philippines.

@Abe: what’s the difference between a 3D TV with just downloading a 3D movie, play it on ordinary LCD TV and hook yourself up with 3D glasses. and for the 3D TV, what if i just played a 2D movie on it.
i saw a 3D TV by LG when i passed by mega yesterday. they don’t have a price for it yet.
Abe Olandres says:
@warfab – will check on that. have not had a closer look yet.
Abe Olandres says:
@andre – yup!
@cafemobility – 3D TV has the image pop out of the screen.
lee says:
It will probably cost an arm and a leg or maybe more.
Take the price of a similar model from Samsung then multiply it by 2 or 3.
Jes says:
Good thing Sony didn’t call this “Edgeless” unlike this other company *cough* LG Borderless kuno *cough* :D

Right now. Best LED TV for is Samsung’s 8 Series LED TVs. Great image quality with deep blacks to boot. They’ve gotten big in terms of market share. For Sony, OTOH, it’s been downhill since Samsung vowed to increase market share or die trying.
Rem says:
Sana i-release nila yung XBR lineup dito, yung XBR LX900 and HX900 na may FACE DETECTION! :(
