Fujifilm has introduced its new medium format mirrorless camera with a 51.4 megapixel sensor – the GFX 50S.
The GFX 50S is part of Fujifilm’s new GFX mirrorless digital camera system which includes six new Fujinon GF lenses. It features a G Format 43.8 x 32.9mm CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 51.4 million and powered by the X-Processor Pro imaging processor.
It can shoot at 4:3, 3:2, 1:1, 4:5, 6:7, and 6:17 aspect ratios with a shutter speed of 1/4000s. The GFX 50S is also the company’s first model to use a detachable electronic viewfinder with an optional adapter to allow the EVF to tilt. Fujifilm will also release other accessories such as the Vertical Battery Grip.
As for the Fujinon GF lenses, will launch the following:
• Standard prime “GF63mmF2.8 R WR”
• Wide-angle standard zoom “GF32-64mmF4 R LM WR”
• Mid-telephoto macro 1:0.5 “GF120mmF4 Macro R LM OIS WR”
• Fast aperture mid-telephoto “GF110mmF2 R LM WR”
• Ultra wide “GF23mmF4 R LM WR”
• Wide “GF45mmF2.8 R WR”
The new Fujifilm GFX 50S and Fujinon GF lenses will arrive in early 2017. SRP is yet to be announced.
