5 Reasons an MG is the Best Bang-for-Buck Car for Pinoys

MG Philippines recently announced the launch of their latest global models in the country, consisting of the RX5 compact SUV, ZS crossover SUV, and MG6 fastback sedan. Why are these the best bang-for-buck cars for Pinoys? Here are 5 reasons:

Rich British heritage

MG has existed since 1924 – not many car brands can say that they have been around for this long. Since their inception, MG has been synonymous with style, freedom, and an exciting drive. Today, modern MGs still reflect these characteristics despite not being the roadsters of old. It’s only natural that MG has had their ups and downs through the years. But if there’s one thing MG has demonstrated over the years, it is resilience. Today, MG is truly a global brand with headquarters in both hemispheres of the globe.

They have the looks

If you want a car with a European appeal, then MG has what you need. With one look at these new MGs, it’s obvious that they have a distinct look that stands out, like the RX5 with its sporty exterior and spacious interior that looks practical and elegant at the same time. The ZS, on the other hand, has a sporty, luxury SUV appeal to it – thanks to the distinctive Stardust grille and London Eye headlights; while the MG6 has a boot space of an SUV and aggressive fascia. All things considered, these MG cars will surely turn heads.

Quality cars with lots of features

MG has been around since 1924 so when it comes to car manufacturing, these guys have the experience. MG’s signature quality still remains up to this day, manifesting in the brand’s newest cars and their topnotch features. For example, the features that come standard with the MG ZS, the MG RX5, and the MG 6 include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MG iLink software and Apple CarPlay, a reverse camera, Anti-Lock Brake System, Cornering Brake Control, Electronic Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hill Start Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and Traction Control System, and driver safety aids such as Anti-Lock Brake System, Cornering Brake Control, Electronic Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution, multi-functional controls, and two-toned red and black seats.

Plenty of options

MG Philippines offers a range of variants suited for your personality and lifestyle. And for each new MG vehicle, here’s the best part:

Attainable price

What makes these MG cars even more attractive are their pricing. For starters, their new MG ZS models are all priced under PHP 1M. The RX5 and MG6 are a bit more expensive but neither exceed the PHP 1USD 0.02INR 1EUR 0.02CNY 0.12.3M mark (for a complete price list of the new offerings from MG Philippines, click here. What adds even more value to these cars are the perks – all of them have a 5-year or 100,000km warranty, while new MG owners will have access to a “Mobile Garage” service caravan that offers regular preventive maintenance servicing, which will be available in January 2019. Other perks include a 24/7 Customer Care Hotline, MG HERO Services 24/7 roadside assistance, and a Mobile Gadget proprietary app to keep up-to-date with your car’s running stats.

Considering their great value proposition and coupled with a rich British heritage, MGs can definitely be considered among some of the best bang-for-buck cars in the country. So if you’re on a hunt for a reasonably-priced car with deep European roots, make sure to put MG on your list.

  1. Am sorry MG stands for?

    • Morris Garages. It’s a British marquee known to build sports cars.

“MG has existed since 1924”, yes but had many owners, many mismanaged history in the company and known to build very unreliable cars like any other British marquee. Most of all, it’s not really 100% British, the badge is British but it’s purely Chinese.

  2. MG is Chinese. It used to be good but now it’s Chinese so “Bang! Bang! Bang!” to your hundred thousand bucks ?

  3. I heard a horror story that the air-bags didn’t deploy, among other problems.
And like Joe said, its not a “British” car anymore. MG was bought by China.

  4. I bought an RX5 in 2019 and so far its working just fine, for a price of Php1.2M, i should say its a bang!! Besides, my first 3 services were free of charge.

  5. Nop…
Don’t buy one, cos there a CHINESE PILE OF COMMY SHITE
