After three days of testing a total of seventy-two (72) vehicles from different categories, Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) is another step closer to announcing the 2016 Car of the Year and Truck of the Year.
Apart from the two prestigious awards, there are also the special, category, and major awards that brands are vying for. The last day of testing saw entries ranging from light commercial vehicles, compact sedans, to the luxury performance models. These include Audi TT 2.0 TFSI, BMW 118i, Ford Focus 1.5L Sport+ with EcoBoost, Honda Legend, Hyundai Elantra, Jaguar F-Type S, Maserati Levante, Nissan GT-R, and more.
“We appreciate the increased trust and support we’ve received from the car manufacturers and distributors. Several noted brands have re-joined testing process these past two years, and for that, we are truly grateful. The need to include all the brands locally available is crucial in the search for CAGI’s Car of the Year – Philippines Awards, the only consumer-oriented and instrumented test process in the country,” said Robby Consunji, president of the Car Awards Group, Inc.
With all the data in, all that is left to do is for the auditors to tabulate the category winners, determine this year’s Car of the Year – Philippines and Truck of the Year – Philippines, order the trophies, and award the winners.
Last year, the Mazda 2 SkyActiv R 4-door won the COTY-PH and the Best Subcompact Car Category. Which car will it be for this year? Stay tuned as we wait for the announcement of this year’s winners in hopes of helping consumers with buying their next vehicle.
