The Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), has announced that there will be a temporary lane closure along CAVITEX (southbound) near Paranaque bridge starting September 15 to give way to pipe relocation works by Maynilad as part of the construction of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension.

The temporary lane closure will be implemented from September 15 until December 15, 2020. LRMC said that this is a follow-through of the test pit works (bridge and pipe inspection) which was conducted in the same area last May 2020.
LRCMC said that the construction activities for the 11.7-kilometer LRT-1 Cavite Extension project are currently in various stages of development and has reached a 40% completion rate since civil works started in September 2019 for the project aspects within LRMC’s scope.
“LRMC has been in close partnership with Maynilad and CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation for the necessary activities to prepare the foundation for LRT-1 Cavite Extension. We are thankful for their cooperation, as well as the support from government partners such as the DOTR, LRTA, DPWH, Philippine Reclamation Authority, Toll Regulatory Board, Metro Manila Development Authority, and the local government units. Despite the limitations brought by the quarantine period and the necessary adjustments, we have been able to make progress on this project,” LRMC Cavite Extension Management Team (CEMT) Project Execution Manager Reynaldo Pangilinan said.
“We also request for the continued understanding of all CAVITEX motorists, and advise them to plan their trips ahead. We are aware that this will bring temporary inconvenience. But once the project is completed, travel between Baclaran and Bacoor will be faster, easier, and more convenient for our commuters,” CEMT Project Manager Pangilinan added.
