Display

If you’re looking for a device that can provide you with the biggest screen possible, the POCO F4 GT has it. However, that’s just 0.12-inch bigger. Both have Full HD+ resolutions, and since the Nothing Phone (1) has a smaller screen, it also packs more pixels per square inch, but only by 7ppi. That said, you won’t notice the difference in screen size and pixel density.

The Nothing Phone (1) uses an OLED panel, while the POCO F4 GT uses AMOLED. Both panels can produce punchy colors with deep blacks. The two devices also have 120Hz refresh rates.

From here, the POCO F4 GT takes the lead as it has a higher touch sampling rate and uses Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.

Chipset and Memory

Obviously the POCO F4 GT, as a gaming smartphone, wins this round as it has a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This means it has a more powerful CPU and GPU. But this is not to say that the Nothing Phone (1)’s Snapdragon 778+ 5G is bad. It’s actually a premium mid-range chipset that can handle heavy mobile titles as well.

When it comes to RAM and storage, both have 8GB and 12GB RAM, and 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1. No microSD card support from either device.

Cameras

The Nothing Phone (1) has dual rear cameras, while the POCO F4 GT has three. The former wins for having a higher-resolution ultrawide camera, while the latter wins with a higher-resolution main and a dedicated macro camera. Selfie-wise, the POCO F4 GT also has a higher resolution front camera.

Take note that these are numbers of pixels in a sensor. We’ll know which does better once we have reviewed the Nothing Phone (1).

Connectivity and Features

The two devices have dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, NFC, and support for a number of satellite navigation systems. The POCO F4 GT, however, has the advantage of having an IR blaster, quad speakers, and pop-up gaming triggers. The Nothing Phone (1), on the other hand, has IP53 splash and dust resistance, and fancy lights at the back called the Glyph Interface.

Battery

The POCO F4 GT wins again for having a larger battery (200mAh more), and a more powerful fast charging rate. The Nothing Phone (1)’s battery is not bad though and still has fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Price

The Nothing Phone (1) 8GB + 256GB is expected to launch with a price tag of PHP 29,990. The POCO F4 GT, on the other hand, is now listed online at PHP 27,590 for the 8GB + 128GB. It’s more affordable than the competition and a good option if you don’t mind the smaller storage.

But let’s say you have the budget for the Nothing Phone (1), your other option is to add an extra PHP 1K, and get the POCO F4 GT 12GB + 256GB for PHP 30,990.

Which one to get?

If you’re into the design of the Nothing Phone (1), especially the Glyph Interface, and have the budget, this is a nice phone to have. It’s interesting, unique, and can certainly perform.

However, if you’re after flagship performance and more features for gaming, the POCO F4 GT can provide more value for your money.
