Both of Globe and Smart has just released their postpaid plan listings for the upcoming official Philippine release of the new iPhones on November 11. Let’s compare their suggested or ideal plans to get the most of the deal.

If you’re eyeing for the iPhone 7, both telcos offer competitive plans. Globe gives you unlimited calls within their network while Smart gives you 80 minutes of calls but to all networks. Texting to any network is not a problem since both gives you unlimited SMS. Data-wise, Smart gives more at 15GB plus one free app monthly while Globe only has 10GB allowance but has a ton of premium freebies like Netflix and Spotify subscription.

All in all, you’ll have to shell out Php2,599/month (Plan 1999 + Php600) with Globe’s preferred plan for 2 years and that already includes the monthly installment of the device’s cash-out. Smart, on the other hand, is feeling generous with no cash-out for the handset although you’re locked in paying Php2,499/month for 2 and a half years.

When it comes to the iPhone 7 Plus, things are a bit pricey. With Globe, we still have the Plan 1999 with the same inclusions but with a higher monthly cash-out (Php900) totaling at Php2,899/month. Smart gives it at Php2,999/month additional minutes of all net calls and bigger 18GB of data allowance. Still no cash-out for Smart but, again, it wants you to be with them for 30 months.

Smart is really giving good iPhone 7 plans for their loyal subscribers and enticing for new ones. Globe’s best bet is their content and their massive app freebies show it although it’s just for a few months.

Keep in mind for heavy data users out there, both telcos offer an anti-bill shock guarantee. You may read about it here for Globe and here for Smart.

question lng s anti bill shock ng smart. 2499 ang iphone 7 (32gb) plan. tapos 2500 ang anti bill shock. 2.5k lang babayaran ko kahit lumagpas ako sa data volume?

2500 minus the ‘data cost’ of that plan example if the 15Gb costs 1299 on that plan then 1201 yung added cost mo, In my experience unreliable yung data counting ng Smart, kung naka adroid ka may built-in data counter yung phone, they also have a usage check and pag generate ng bill mo (assumed you performed a data check 1hr bago mag cycle) none of them match up, in most cases by the gigabyte yung difference, does not bother me as much as I am in a location where smart gives me 44Mbps during peak and about 60Mbps during off peak, I use about 500-700Gb per month sa download and over 1Tb sa upload
