Whether you’re a creative professional constantly uploading Gigabytes of data for collaborations, or an SME owner looking to migrate your operations at home, the basic internet plans may not be enough to suit your needs.
If you’re looking for the best home internet plan, we compiled and compared the list offered by different ISPs in the country.
Author’s note: These are all unlimited plans, so users don’t need to worry about incurring any additional fees.
Here are the fastest WiFi plans available from the five most prominent ISPs:
ISP | Plan | Speed | Inclusions | Price |
---|---|---|---|---|
Globe | Globe At Home Plan 2899 | 100Mbps | Unlimited Calls to Globe/TM, Local area landline and NDD | PHP 2,899 |
PLDT | PLDT Whole Home WiFi Plan 3,099 | 100Mbps | 3 x TP Link Deco Unlimited calls to Smart/Sun/TNT | PHP 3,099 |
Converge | FiberX 3500 | 150Mbps | - | PHP 3,500 |
SKY | SKYfiber Home WiFi Plan 3799 | 120Mbps | 3 x TP Link Deco M5 | PHP 3799 |
Eastern Communications | Eastern Home Plan 2798 | 100Mbps | - | PHP 2,798 |
Again, the data plans from PLDT, Converge, and SKY are Fiber connections, which should be more consistent (that is to say, there are no peak hours), and should have relatively similar download and upload speeds. Given the plans, the cost per Mbps would come out as follows:
Similar to the most affordable wired internet plans list, Converge comes out the most affordable out of the five, able to provide users with the fastest speed. However, it does offer the least amount of inclusions while covering the least amount of locations.
The second most cost-effective provider is Eastern Communications, with their fastest plan costing at PHP 27.98 per Mbps. Do note, however, that we have not yet confirmed whether Eastern is offering fiber or regular broadband connections.
Next on the list is Globe. While it does offer one of the slowest connection speed of the five, it’s also the cheapest plan. Additionally, users also get free unlimited calls to Globe/TM mobile subscribers and local area landline and NDD.
Those with large homes may be interested in getting PLDT’s Whole Home WiFi plan, as it provides users with three TP-Link Deco Home WiFi Mesh that will broaden the WiFi signal’s coverage. Like Globe, users also get free unlimited calls to Smart, Sun, and TNT subscribers.
The most expensive of all five providers is SKY, but it also comes with TP-Link Deco M5 Home WiFi mesh. That being said, it offers the second-highest speed at 120Mbps.
Again, I would like to reiterate that choosing which provider is heavily dependent on your location. Some providers may not be able to provide you the advertised speed, while others may. In this case, it will cause you fewer headaches and ease of mind by choosing the ISP that’s more capable in your area, even if its a little more expensive. Take advantage of free trials, when possible, and check out reviews from people within close proximity to your home.

Pldt is a joke I waited one month to hook up my home and then 2 weeks to turn it on. Now waited one month for a new connection to my second house and they always want a new application every time a call to find out the status of my order. They keep telling me it’s going to be hooked up. And when I call people say 48 hours to hook up everyone asked me my information only to say i got the wrong department and my service number is not in there system. I’m on the line now and still the wrong department 4 hours today I have tried. This is such a joke and the employees are too no one knows anything about anything I do not recommend this company to anyone

Far behind with coverage , hardly any options and reliability in Visayas…. PLDT AND GLOBE are poor in coverage in Iloilo.
I always latency issues with PLDT and my friends struggle with LTE Globe ( yes it’s not wire)
When are we going to see more expansion and more internet providers ….more competition….more network infrared….more happy people.

This article is misleading.
SkyFiber’s 150 Mbps plan for P3499 is Sky’s fastest plan, which makes the cost per Mbps P23.33. This information is readily available at Sky’s website. Fix the article and make it more factual.

converge has extreme plans that go up to 500 mbps I think
pldt also offers internet at 2899 without the multi routers (which are for the most part useless for people who live in buildings)
