The Infinix Hot 10S falls a bit short in terms of screen size with its 6.82-inch display compared to the TECNO Mobile POVA 2’s 6.9-inch. However, that’s a very small difference that is unlikely to be noticeable. Both have IPS so you’ll get natural colors. What will be noticed, though, is the former’s lower HD+ screen compared to the competitor’s FHD+. However, not all is lost with the Infinix Hot 10S as it has a 90Hz screen refresh rate. So, while the TECNO Mobile POVA 2 has a higher screen resolution, the Infinix Hot 10S can provide a smoother viewing experience.
Both smartphones are powered by the same MediaTek Helio G85 CPU and the Mali-G52 GPU. Because of this, we can expect the same level of performance on both. Based on our review, of the Infinix Hot 10S, it’s capable of running games in low to medium graphics settings.
The Infinix Hot 10S offers more flexibility when it comes to RAM and storage configuration, available in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB, which offers more flexibility when it comes to pricing. The TECNO Mobile POVA 2, on the other hand, is only available at 6GB + 128GB. As for expandability, both feature dedicated slots for microSD cards.
The TECNO Mobile POVA 2 is much more flexible and versatile with its quad-camera configuration as compared to the Infinix Hot 10S’ triple camera configuration. Both sport a 48MP wide camera, a 2MP depth camera, and AI lens (for depth). The TECNO Mobile POVA 2, however, sports a dedicated 2MP macro camera. Take note, though, that these numbers don’t always equate to quality. Luckily, we were able to review the Infinix Hot 10S and a hands-on of the TECNO Mobile POVA 2 and give you our input on their camera quality.
The Infinix Hot 10S was able to provide punchy colors with enough details when decent lighting is available. The drawback, however, is that some images would look washed out. For its selfie camera, the subjects look soft, especially on the skin but can still output sharp edges.
On the flip side, the sample photos of the TECNO Mobile POVA 2 provide vibrant colors to boot but can be easily overturned in post. As for its selfie camera, it can keep the subject true to its color tone, giving well-focused shots with a decent amount of contrast between highlights and shadows.
Both smartphones feature the same dual-SIM, 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The difference lies with its USB Type-C and NFC support, which goes to the TECNO Mobile POVA 2. The Infinix Hot 10S, on the other hand, uses a micro-USB port.
The largest capacity goes to the TECNO Mobile POVA 2, with its large 7,000mAh battery and 18W fast charge capabilities. Its competitor sits behind at 6,000mAh battery with 10W charging.
Which one to get?
The local price of the Infinix Hot 10S is at PHP 5,990 for the 4GB + 64GB and PHP 6,990 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. Meanwhile, the TECNO Mobile POVA 2 is priced at PHP 7,990 with 6GB +128GB.
If we are talking about overall advantages, the TECNO Mobile POVA 2 remains the victor with its larger FHD+ display, dedicated macro camera, NFC support, faster 18W charging rate, and large 7,000mAh battery.
However, keep in mind that the Infinix Hot 10S, is more affordable than the TECNO Mobile POVA 2, and features a smooth 90Hz screen refresh rate, and gives users options when it comes to RAM and storage options. If you’re on a budget, the Infinix Hot 10S is the best way to go, but if you can stretch the budget a bit, the TECNO Mobile POVA 2’s features will serve you well.
