Display
In terms of display, the OnePlus Nord offers a full-screen edge-to-edge 1080p AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. While the iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch retina HD display. Nothing much going on the iPhone in this category, but if you are into a smartphone with a smaller form factor, then you should check out the iPhone SE.
Chipset
Both of these devices have different chipsets. Apple’s iPhone SE 2020 got an A13 Bionic which is the same chipset as Apple’s latest flagship devices. The OnePlus Nord on the other hand has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with support for 5G connectivity.
When it comes to RAM, the OnePlus Nord offers up to 12GB RAM while the iPhone SE 2020 only has 3GB RAM. On paper, the iPhone SE seems to be running behind the OnePlus Nord, but in a real-world situation and if you’re only doing basic tasks, then you wouldn’t feel that much difference when it comes to performance.
Storage
Both of these devices offer up to 256GB of storage with no microSD card slot, so you are either stuck with 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of storage capacity.
Cameras
Now for cameras, the OnePlus Nord sports a quad-camera setup while the iPhone SE 2020 only has a single camera lens that has an imaging sensor the same as what’s on an iPhone 8 and has an improved portrait mode and image signal processor thanks to the A13 Bionic. Both are capable of shooting videos in 4K with OIS. As for selfies, you get a dual-lens camera on the OnePlus Nord and a single lens on the iPhone SE 2020.
Security
The iPhone SE 2020 offers a more traditional fingerprint scanner situated on the home button, while the OnePlus Nord offers facial recognition and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
OS
Both of these devices offer different OSs. The OnePlus Nord runs on OxygenOS based on Android 10, while the iPhone SE 2020 has a more straightforward and minimalist UI and seamless connection with your iOS or macOS device with the iOS 13. The iPhone SE also has 5 years of OS support as compared to approximately 2 years you get on the Nord.
Battery
Powering the iPhone SE 2020 is a 1,821mAh battery with support for Apple’s proprietary 18W fast charging technology, and a Qi wireless charging support. The OnePlus Nord, on the other hand, has a massive 4,115mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Sadly, there is no wireless charging support on the Nord.
Price
The prices for these devices are as follows:
- OnePlus Nord (6GB RAM + 64GB storage) – ROM 2,230 (~PHP 26,632.48)
- iPhone SE 2020 (3GB RAM + 64GB storage) – PHP 26,490
Which one should you get?
The iPhone SE 2020 is a compact flagship smartphone with few compromises like its single-lens camera setup, HD screen resolution, and old iPhone 8 design. The OnePlus Nord, on the other hand, has a more modern aesthetic, edge-to-edge screen real estate, quad rear cameras, and dual selfie cameras.
If you’re into a newer design, bigger screen, larger battery, then without a doubt, you should go with the OnePlus Nord. But if you are into a pocketable beast and don’t mind the single-lens camera, and old aesthetics, then the iPhone SE 2020 is the one to get. It is currently the fastest 4.7-inch smartphone on the market, so the iPhone SE won’t disappoint if you hate big smartphones.
