The two devices are almost in the same league in terms of display. Both have large screens above 10-inches, with the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) having a 0.1-inch advantage, which is negligible. Both also have the same resolution, but the realme Pad has a slightly higher pixel count. But the 8ppi difference is also negligible as it won’t be noticed in everyday use.
What people will notice, though, is the panel used. The realme Pad uses IPS which provides better color clarity and viewing angles than a standard TFT. This is important as you will use these tablets for entertainment as well.
Both devices are powered by octa-core processors; however, Samsung didn’t disclose the exact chipset on the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021). The realme Pad, on the other hand, has a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. We’ll know more about the former once we have it for review.
The Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) is only offered with 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The realme Pad, on the other hand, has 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB models and is available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage configurations. In addition, both have support for microSD cards.
These tablets are not really designed for mobile photography or videography, but they are effective video calling/conferencing devices. Both are equipped with 8MP rear cameras, but the realme Pad has a higher resolution 8MP shooter on the front, compared to the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021)’s 5MP.
The two tablets are equipped with 4G LTE for certain configurations, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and quad-stereo speakers. Running the software side on both devices is Android 11.
The realme Pad wins since it has a larger 7,100mAh battery with an 18W fast charge, compared to the 7,040mAh battery with a 15W fast charge on the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021).
The Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) is priced as follows:
• 4GB + 64GB (WiFi) – PHP 13,990
• 4GB + 128GB (WiFi + LTE) – PHP 18,990
The realme Pad is priced as follows:
• 3GB + 32GB (WiFi) – PHP 10,990
• 4GB + 64GB (WiFi + LTE) – PHP 14,990
• 6GB + 128GB (WiFi + LTE) – PHP 16,990
If you’re on a tight budget, the realme Pad offers the most affordable model at 3GB + 32GB. But if you’re going for 4GB + 64GB, the most affordable option is the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021). However, at PHP 1K more, you can get LTE on the realme Pad. But if you have a bigger budget, the sweet spot is the realme Pad 6GB + 128GB. It already has LTE and is more affordable than the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) 4GB + 128GB with LTE.
And there you have it. We hope that this comparison has helped you pick the right tablet for you. But what do you think? Are you getting the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) or the realme Pad? Let us know in the comments below.

Good comparison! I’m leaning towards realme just because it has ips display. Btw do any of these have gorilla glass protection?
joberta says:
The chipset of the Samsung is the Unisoc T618, which is powerful than the Helio G80 of the Realme Pad. But the T618 is not flagship and will be destroyed by the flagship Snapdragon 860 on the Xiaomi Pad 5.
